all excited about making gluten free tortieres with my family as I am celiac and miss the fond memories of my dad
as a young child, my memory was baking gingerbread cookies with my mother and my grandmother. I cherish those wonderful times of togetherness as they now both have passed.
We always do a family bake night and make traditonal and new recipes with our family. Then we head out to a retirement home and hand them out to the residents with little gifts and cards.
My great grandson loves to bake! He is only four, but he is fascinated by baking. He comes over every Thursday, and by the time he rings the doorbell, he is choosing what he wants to cook. Most of his favourite recipes call for chocolaate chips that he can sample.
I enjoy having my family over every couple of weeks to catch up and to enjoy some delicious food. Their Favourites include homemade deep dish Lasagne with several types of cheeses, a large pot of my version of chicken and sausage Jambalaya. Just good comfort food
My daughter and I always make some sort of christmas treat togehter. We’ve been doing it since she was 5 and it’s become a tradition for us. Sugar cookies were done this past weekend!
My favourite memory is making chocolate yule logs a few days before Christmas for Christmas eve.

I have many memories of my mom baking so many holiday treats that it filled all the counters and tables. She still does this but she sends trays of baking to many people who work with my dad.
The pasta attachment would be a wonderful and useful attachment as we could learn to make our own instead of always having store bought pasta!
A special time of year is the family making the shortbread cookies and then waiting for them to come out of the oven and cool off enough for everyone to enjoy just one, until the Christmas treats were brought out to devour!
We were quite poor when I was young but it never really felt like we went without. There was always fresh baking, likely out of necessity. When holidays came around at school, mom would always bake something, often a batch of sugar cookies. But they were special. They were always in the theme of the season. We don’t have fancy kitchen tools so she would take empty KLIK cans and cut the tops off and bend them in the shapes of hearts, pumpkins, and snowmen and use them for cookie cutters. They were always perfectly iced, the jack-o’-lantern and snowmen cookies always finished perfectly with chocolate chips for the face and buttons. #biglove
My children are grown now but still love to come back to my kitchen to make our Christmas family favorite treats every year

I’m looking forward to making chocolate truffles, a family recipe and tradition with my daughter this year. I am sure she will eat more than she makes.

My best memory is teaching my granddaughter how to bake her fav. Christmas dessert – Lemon Squares
My first boyfriend’s family invited me to celebrate New Year’s Eve with them. His mother kindly prepared many treats, and it made me feel special. My favourite were stuffed mushroom caps brimming with a fragrant cream cheese and garlic mix and topped with cheese golden from broiling. Many years later, I always smile when I see, smell, or learn of them being prepared
We always enjoy sweet potatoes with a good measure of rum
I have warm memories of making shortbread and mincemeat tarts at Christmas time….the smell is comforting and reminds me so much of her. I still bake them at Christmas and remember our time together. The dough hook and grinder would be perfect for these recipes!
I bake ginger bread cookies from my aunts old recipe
While on a sabbatical leave in Minnesota we bundled up my 3-year-old daughter, put her on a sled and trudged off through the snow to go to the X-mas tree lot to get a tree. They were closed and there was only 1 tree left, a true Charlie Brown scraggly-ass one. We took it home and decorated it with home-made ornaments and small kitchen items. Best tree ever!
I have fond memories of my Mother making wonderful Partridgeberry molasses tarts at Christmas time….the aroma of all those spices was so wonderful! I make them now for Christmas…always thinking of those days when I was a kid. The dough hook would be perfect for this recipe!
My favourite family Christmas story was not something that impressed me at the time, but now we laugh about it. When I was a teenager, I spent hours and hours (actually days and days) doing Christmas baking for the family. I put all the treats in the freezer so we could have a nice variety when friends stopped by. My older brother (also a teenager) had other plans. He systematically ate every single treat (except for one in each container) and I did not realize the transgression until I wanted to serve snacks to our guests. I was livid. Now I take it as a compliment that my baking was so good (or maybe so bad) that it was enjoyed while still frozen.
i make my butter tarts and my magic bars.
I have great memories of adding the sprinkles and other decorations to sugar cookies. My family also enjoyed marzipan cookies.
I recall trying to help cut something and then I accidentally cut myself and bled quite a bit.
The first holiday we cooked turkey and it surprisingly turned out ok!
We don’t cook whole turkey during holidays. Instead we make some nice turkey ham.
