  1. Love watching my Mom teach the grandkids .how to make her cinnamon bun recipe. She has now provided them each with a book of hand written recipe cards. Such a great memento.

The bread kneading hook is a must for our family.

  2. One of my favorite baking memories is making shortbread cookies with my mother every Christmas. We would always play Christmas music and spend an entire day making shortbread cookies for family and friends. I’ve continued to make shortbread cookies every year to carry on my mother’s tradition.

  3. During Covid I was part of a baking pod delivering goodies to front line workers. Was making bliss bars and there was a icing sugar explosion in the kitchen

  4. A few years ago, my husband made 12 different types of cookies at Christmastime and gifted one of each type to a bunch of our friends and family. It was a big hit!

  5. The year my kids said “Can we NOT have turkey?”, and I asked them “what do you have in mind instead?”. Thus began a non-traditional exploration of holiday planning and cooking together. The table offerings have changed over the years, from charcuterie and nibbles only (other heavy meals elsewhere meant full meal wasn’t needed nor desired), to spaghetti and meatballs. The best part is discovering and creating together.

  6. We didn’t eat the traditional Christmas turkey meal. There was usually chicken, meatpie and lasagna. My Mom’s grandkids loved her lasagna so that was always part of the family Christmas meal.

  7. My husband birthday is early December and our family gets together to put up the tree and make our holiday perogies. We have our 3 young grandchildren get involved making them and they love it. We have some that night for his Birthday dinner and we have a feast of perogies and cabbage rolls Christmas Eve. It’s a lot of fun. We have wanted a KitchenAid pasta attachment for years. My husband makes amazing pasta but has to roll it by hand. Thank you so much for the chance to win.

  8. Once December begins we record our Christmas baking hits and misses on a blank calendar. This keeps us informed of our favourites and our passes. We have calendars now for the last 20 years and it’s a great way to remember favourites.

  9. For Hanukkah, its all hands on deck.
Everyone gets involved in making potato latkes.
Some peel potatoes. Some chop onions, (and cry).
    Some do the grating.
There is the mixing of all the ingredients.
    Then there is the frying.
They are kept warm in the oven while more are fried.
    Then everyone eats together.
    And we debate: Applesa?

  10. loved building gingerbread houses with my grandchildren, They were always lopsided and icing was everywhere, but we had fun.

  11. My holiday tradition is to bake sufganiyots (jelly filled donuts) with my daugther and deliver them to all our family and friends

  12. Years ago I started making a sweet potato dish that my father in law loved. He passed away and my husband and I are no longer together, yet I still make this dish in honor of my father in law.

  13. we have a specific diet in our house and make everything from scratch so we spend the run up to Christmas trying different recipes for sides and testing them, then we have a practice Christmas dinner to see if it is perfect, then make any adjustments or additions for the big day. It’s basically a month of cooking and it’s so much fun!

  14. My girls and I make and bake cookies leading up to the big day – they have favourites and so do I… so we make them all!

  15. Every year we make German pfeffernusse cookies with 3 generations (at one time it was 4). We spend all day long baking hundreds of cookies

  16. Made a large batch of Christmas cookies with my daughters last year in order to contribute to a neighbourhood cookie collective swap!

  17. My husband is from Italy, so I have always wanted to make fresh homemade pasta and with this I could. He would love it.

  18. A special memory for me is quite a few Christmases ago. My mom first taught me one of the recipes that her mother shared with her for the Christmas holidays and our recipe is one for a delicious Christmas pudding that I treasure having and every time I make it it always brings me closer to my grandmother and great grandmother.

  19. I don’t ever remember growing up and my mother baking so every Christmas i would bake with my daughter and then my grandson

  20. In the fall, we always went apple picking and kept bushels of apples in our cold storage. Around the holidays, we would stand and peel tons of apples to make apple sauce with them, or use in apple cakes for all the visitors to the house.

  21. Over covid, my adult daughter moved home and we started to make cookies. Rolling dough and perfecting our shortbread recipe. She is coming home this Xmas and asked if we could make shortbreads when she is home. My heart melted.

  22. We LOVE making cookies, especially shortbread ones this time of year, this would be absolutely fabulous to win thank you for this generous contest

  23. Made a large batch of Christmas cookies with my daughters last year in order to contribute to a neighbourhood cookie collective swap!

  24. We love butter tarts, especially the homemade ones. Our mother used to make them from scratch with her own pastry. She made the mini size well before Christmas and would store them in the freezer. One season, we decided to find them and began snitching just one or two, thinking Mom wouldn’t notice. Then my three young brothers also got into the act. Company was coming over so Mom wanted to bring out her best baking. Imagine her shock when the dozens of great tarts had been reduced to just o layer of a dozen or so 😉

  25. My family likes to make popcorn balls this time of year with some candy coating or chocolate. Makes a great item to share with family or friends.

  26. Every Christmas we make shortbread cookies and candy cane cookies, our daughter loves to take charge now that she is older. We would love to try making our own pasta so the pasta roller cutter would be great.

  27. We adjust our green bean casserole to be made without canned soup but make a special cheese sauce for it. I would love a Kitchen Aid mixer. Thank you.

  28. Our tradition is that in December we gather in the kitchen to make our traditional Shortbread Cookies and Snickerdoodles for the holidays.

  29. I have warm memories of baking treats, with my Mom and sisters, for Christmas. Our traditional twists were adding some cut-up, red, candied cherries to the butter tart batter, and peppermint extract and green food colouring to the custard layer of our Nanaimo bars.
