I absolutely love the look of my stainless steel appliances, but I have to say the one thing that drives me crazy is how finger marks love to stand out. My fridge is definitely the worst offender for just looking dirty, and like it hasn’t been cleaned in forever.
I find with a stainless steel fridge you really need to give them a quick wipe down each day just for maintenance. In my case I wipe mine down every morning, and then give it a good clean when I do my weekly house clean.

As the saying goes, opposites attract, and this is also true when it comes to using oil and vinegar to clean your stainless steel fridge.
After doing some research, it seemed that using oil and vinegar was clearly a favourite in getting your stainless steel looking shiny and new so I decided to put it to the test on my own Frigidaire fridge. I started out by using regular white vinegar to get all the finger prints and watermarks off my fridge doors. I just used paper towel for this step and it worked well. Something to remember here is to check the grain of your stainless steel. If you look closely you’ll notice which direction its running in, and you want to rub in the same direction for best results. Next up, I poured some olive oil onto a papertowel and rubbed it into the fridge doors. It will look really streaky at this point, but don’t worry, grab a soft cloth such as microfiber and give the fridge a good buff and you’ll have a fridge that looks shiny and new.
Another option is to use a dishsoap such as Dawn and mix 1 tsp with 4 cups of very hot tap water. Using a microfiber cloth give the fridge a good scrub with the soap and water solution, making sure to go with the grain. When you’ve cleaned the whole surface, give it a wipe down with a cloth and hot water, and then a good dry as well. Using a new and dry microfiber cloth with a couple drops of mineral oil, give the fridge a rub down, again going with the grain, and you will be left with a perfect shine.

While I do get annoyed at how often I have to clean my fridge doors, they are quite easy to clean over all. If you keep them maintained with a daily wipe down, and then give them a good clean with an oil finish once a week, you can keep them looking like new for a long time.
