Dyson copy.jpgIt’s only September in Canada, but if you live in a house where you’ve got spotty heating, you’re already going to be feeling a little frosty on some mornings. Fall is a weird lull period where you aren’t quite sure you want to turn on your central heat, and if you do, you’ll have to turn it off by late afternoon because the sun could be blazing in the windows and heating everything up.

It’s months like these the Dyson Hot+Cool AM09 really shines. It can take a chilly room and turn it cozy for everyone in it, and if the sun decides to beat into your windows, you can flip the switch and enjoy a focused stream of cool air.

I’ve tried out the Dyson Hot+Cool, and I swear it’s one of the handiest appliances you can have in your home. Here’s a quick overview of the Dyson Hot+Cool AM09.

You know how you pack up your winter clothes in the summer and bring out the tank tops, only to pack those up in the winter and haul back out your sweaters? Unless you have unlimited storage space, it’s just part of the process of changing seasons in Canada, but it can get a little tedious when you have to do the same thing with your space heaters and summer fans.

I’ve used space heaters every winter because there are always spots in a house that are cold, despite the fact that I had your furnace running at full blast. I’ll admit I find the run of the mill space heaters sort of scary. With kids around, I always worried a space heater would get tipped over or the kids would touch it and burn their fingers.

That worry went out the window when I tried out the Dyson Hot+Cool. There are no elements to burn your fingers on, and it uses Jet Focus technology to give you with a steady blast of heat you can direct to any corner of a room. There are 10 different fan settings for hot or cool air, and the best part? Because the Dyson Hot+Cool is a dual heater/fan, you don’t have to haul it in and out storage. It’s lightweight, easy to move around, and it gives you hot or cool air all year long.

Take a look at the video from Dyson to see how it works.

It’s easy to use

I like to be warm when I’m awake, but when it’s time to go to sleep I’m a fan of a nice cold room. That way you can throw open the window and snuggle under the blankets.

With the Dyson Hot+Cool ceramic fan heater you can turn the heat off right from bed because it has a remote control you can use to adjust the fan’s settings from anywhere you are. There’s even a sleep timer, so if you have the Dyson Hot+Cool in your child’s room you can set it to turn off or on when you want it to run.

I love white noise, but just because I want to be warm or cool doesn’t mean I want to listen to something rattling away in the corner. One of the first things I noticed about the Dyson Hot+Cool was how quiet it was, and even when it’s blowing heat all you hear is a gentle hum.

The Dyson Hot+Cool is also cool to the touch, even when it’s heating up the room, so you don’t have to worry about a child burning his or her fingers.

For summer or winter, cooling off or heating up, you can’t go wrong with the Dyson Hot+Cool AM09. Check them out on Bestbuy.ca right now.
