Xbox Cloud Gaming

Earlier this month, Xbox announced that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate cloud gaming is coming to more screens. It seems that the wait wasn’t that long! Xbox Cloud Gaming is now available on Windows 10 PCs and iOS devices via web browser in 22 countries across the world.

And, it’s now open to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers! By using either Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or Safari on your PC or mobile device you’ll have access to hundreds of games on Xbox Game Pass.

Blockbuster games on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

One of the best values in gaming is an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. It puts over 100+ titles at your fingertips. You get Microsoft’s first party blockbusters like Halo: Master Chief Collection, Gears of War 5 and Sea of Thieves along with many other must-play titles. Future Xbox Game Studios titles like Microsoft Flight Simulator, Halo Infinite , Forza Horizon 5 and Psychonauts 2 will arrive day and date with their retail launch. Even big third-party titles like Outriders, Dirt 5, MLB: The Show 21 and Back 4 Blood have joined, or are slated to launch on Game Pass the same day as their retail debuts.

Xbox Cloud Gaming Datacenter servers upgraded

In addition to the announcement that Xbox Cloud Gaming is now open to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, Xbox announced that data centre servers that power Xbox Cloud Gaming have been upgraded as well. Previously, running on Xbox One S hardware, the servers have now been upgraded to custom Xbox Series X hardware.

These upgrades now allow for faster load times, improved frame rates and an experience of a new generation of gaming. As a result, latency has been dramatically improved and streaming has been upgraded from 720P to 1080p and up to 60fps. Furthermore, Xbox promises that more features and enhancements will be added to Xbox Cloud Gaming in the future.

Seamless play across your devices

Xbox Cloud Gaming allows for seamless play across virtually all of your devices. When you’re streaming games, the game you are playing is coming from Xbox hardware in a Microsoft datacenter. What this means is, you can play and connect with your friends through the Xbox network just like you have always done on your Xbox console. As a result, your game saves are just the same wherever and whenever you play. You can pick right back up from where you left off.

Touch screen controls for more than 50 games

According to Xbox, about one-in-six players who are playing on Xbox Cloud Gaming only use touch controls. Because of this, not only can you play games using an Xbox Wireless Controller or mobile gaming accessories but select games have touch screen controls.

For each title that uses Xbox touch controls, the team at Microsoft have worked to create an experience designed specifically for that game on mobile devices. Xbox touch controls are based on the traditional Xbox controller, but allow you to do everything with just two digits. And, because people’s hands are different, Xbox touch controls are customizable and allow you to put the controls in the place on the screen that works best for you.

Here’s the list of some of the games featuring Xbox touch controls:

  • Dead Cells
  • Gucamelee! 2
  • Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
  • Hotshot Racing
  • Killer Instinct
  • New Super Lucky’s Tale
  • Slay The Spire
  • Streets of Rage 4
  • Tell Me Why
  • UnderMine
