Wield Powerful Weapons
That brutal battle takes place in the Underworld, home of Greek god Hades. In the clip you can see Kratos wield his mighty Blades of Exile, given to him by Athena, which are permanently chained to his wrists. Kratos also can be seen deploying wings, stolen from Icarus in God of War II, enabling him to briefly glide after jumping. Finally, he also relies upon the Bow of Apollo to attack Hades safely at a distance.
At the 6:00 mark, you can watch as Kratos wrestles the powerful Claws of Hades from the god’s hands, and them use them to finish him off (plus take down a few Underworld minions!)
Impressive Graphical Updates
The boost to the game’s graphics are quite impressive indeed, from the intricate detail seen on Kratos and Hades themselves, to the superb lighting effects with both Kratos’ and Hades’ weapon attacks. I was also greatly impressed with the improved particle effects, such as the dust cloud the arises whenever Hades’ claw slams down onto the battle arena floor. The level of brutality has also been amped up, with more realistic gore as Kratos rips Hades apart with his devastating dual blades.

Not only does God of War III Remastered give you a greatly enhanced version of this beloved, fan-favourite game, but you’ll also receive all downloadable content (DLC) costumes and content. Years ago, I had the God of War Ascension dynamic theme for my PlayStation 3, and it was awesome to fire up my console and be greeted with beautiful artwork from the game. While I haven’t seen the Fall of Olympus theme yet, Sony has a knack for producing excellent dynamic themes so I’m quite excited to see this one soon!
