If you are in the market for a new TV, you can kill a lot of brain cells trying to figure out all the available models.  It is perfectly acceptable to kill a few more afterward with a few celebratory libations, basking in the glory of a new HDTV. You will especially want to celebrate if you selected one of Samsung’s UNH6350 LED sets, as this new line has some of the best mid-range TVs on the market. If you want a great performing HDTV with an excellent Smart platform you will not go wrong with the H6350’s from Samsung.

Many Size Choices

The H6350 comes in a wide range of sizes starting at 40” as the smallest, going all the way to a gigantic 75” screen. Because it is a popular model with a lot of the essential features that most people want, Samsung has decided to make this in just about every size between 40” and 75,” in increments of 5.” The only exceptions to that is there is no 45” or 70” model, so other available sizes are 50,” 55,” 60,” and 65.” The specifications and features of all these different sized sets is essentially the same, so finding the TV you want in exactly the size you want is easy.

Design

This new line of LED Smart TVs is very attractive and stylish due to the extremely thin all-black bezel that makes it look like it is all screen and no frame. The frame is literally only 3/10’s of an inch wide. It comes with a very distinctive silver swivel stand with spider type feet – although four feet rather than eight. It also has an elegant silver strip of metal along the bottom of the TV, which gives it a very classy look.

Connectivity

If you are a gamer or have a number of peripherals that you need to connect to the UNH6350, there a plenty of ports, including 4 HDMI and 3 USB as well as an . It has WiFi capability to support the Smart features as well as an Ethernet port for a wired Internet connection, which is always my preference for bandwidth intensive video streaming. I also like the fact it has an optical audio output port. These are all in addition to the standard component, composite, and coaxial input ports. All in all, this is a well-connected TV that is not short of connectivity options.

Features

The best feature of the TV is the Smart Hub capability, which Samsung has continued to refine over the last several years. They have improved the navigation by sorting the content into four Hub categories: Movies and TV content, Games, Apps, and Multimedia. Their Smart platform has nice simple layout that makes things easier to find, with lots of available content in every category.

Other features include the screen mirroring using the MHL port, as well as the ability to play lots of other media using any of the 3 USB ports. It also comes with picture-in-picture capability, and for the gamers a game mode coupled with a fast refresh rate so fast action games won’t experience any motion blur.

Picture Quality

The LED technology that Samsung uses is full array “direct-lit” LED which is much better than “edge-lit” because it provides a much more uniform picture with better contrast. These sets also come with Samsung’s “Wide Color Enhancer Plus” and “Mega Contrast Ratio” technologies, which ensure a vibrant and clear picture that is a pleasure to watch. This series is new for 2014 and comes with the latest quad core processor, which is fast. This is not only great for the Smart features but also assists with no input lag and very clear pictures when streaming.

Bottom Line

Samsung’s UNH6350 series is a winner. You will find whatever size you need in this elegant looking set. No matter what size you choose, the picture is great, the Smart Hub is a convenient way to access so much more content, and the overall pricing is very reasonable. This new series for 2014 has only 6 reviews so far, but all of them have been a 5 out of 5 – the highest praise that customers can give!
