Why you should be looking at Samsung TVs in 2023

Have you looked at the range of TVs on display at a Best Buy store these days? I have. Impressive. Almost all of them are LED TVs, though there are a range of types of LED TVs. In the store your eyes will first be drawn to the stunning Samsung Frame TVs. We gave one of these away earlier this year on the blog. Then you’ll look at some of the other types of LEDs and, if you are like most people, you’ll be confused by the terms: OLED, QLED, and Neo QLED. All three are great. All three do some things better than other things. For example, OLEDs have the best blacks thanks to individual self-lighting pixels. QLED has the best brightness (great for bright rooms) thanks to the backlighting. Neo QLEDs are the best combination thanks to their arrays of mini-LED backlighting. Samsung QLED and Neo QLEDs have other advantages too including lower costs.

Why do you want a new TV this fall

Each year, the fall season seems to usher in not just pumpkin spice lattes and sweater weather, but also a surge in people bringing home new TV sets. Here are the top two reasons why:

1. New models and clearance sales

Television manufacturers often release new models in the spring and summer so by fall, these new releases have had time to be reviewed so you know which ones to buy. This not only help you make more informed decisions but also puts pressure on retailers to clear out older inventory to make room for the next generation of models. So whether you are looking for the best new TVs or last year’s models at significant savings, this is the best time of year.

2. Ready for holiday entertainment and sports events

The fall season is a precursor to major holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve, all of which are synonymous with family gatherings and home entertainment. People anticipate needing a better or bigger TV to host movie marathons, special broadcasts, and, of course, holiday specials. Additionally, fall is a significant season for sports with the NFL, NBA, and NHL seasons bringing excitement into our homes. The lure of watching big games and key matchups on a shiny new screen can be hard to resist.

Fall is a perfect storm of incentives; it’s the season not just for falling leaves but also for finding the perfect new TV for your home on television sets. And it’s the perfect time for us to have a contest giving two of the newest and best TVs away.

What you can win

At the end of this contest, we will randomly draw two winners. One will receive the Samsung QN90C TV that Shelly reviewed and the other will receive the Samsung Q70C TV that Shelly reviewed.

This contest runs from Sept 15th to Oct 1st.

  17. A QLED TV is a TV with a layer of quantum dots placed over the backlight. When you place quantum dots over any backlight the TV will have brighter colours and better contrast, and I’ve seen this technology used on both LED backlights and Mini-LED backlights. The Samsung Q70C has an LED backlight, but it’s Dual LED. Dual LED uses two LED lights instead of one and they are both set at different colour temperatures. When paired with quantum dots, the colours produced on the TV are more natural, brighter, and have better colour balance overall. Would love to win a 70 inch.

  18. I would love a new TV this fall to make it easier to watch our favourite sports and movies. We won’t have to squint to see the ball while watching our sports or try to see anything in a movie that has to be read, especially a text on a phone. Looking forward to watching Only Murders in the Building, and any Walking Dead spinoff.

I learned that the the Samsung Q70C 4K TV has a Quantum processor 4K and Quantum HDR which optimize picture quality and enhance contrast – this would be perfect for my living room because I get so much natural light and if I ever watch TV during the day, it’s often hard to see the picture, especially if it’s a dark scene in the movie/show. The 55″ model would be perfect in my living room and I really need a new TV because mine is on its last legs, so this would be the perfect prize 🙂

  47. My Samsung TV is about 12 years old. It seems fine until I walk at Best Buy and see what these new TVs look like!! Overdue for an upgrade to watch some 4k NHL!

  50. One of the reasons I would love a new TV is because my family enjoy weekly movie nights. We are opening to get a TV that help with the visibility of darker palette movie and shows so we don’t see a black screen when watching great shows like The Rings of Power and Willow.
