Why you should be looking at Samsung TVs in 2023
Have you looked at the range of TVs on display at a Best Buy store these days? I have. Impressive. Almost all of them are LED TVs, though there are a range of types of LED TVs. In the store your eyes will first be drawn to the stunning Samsung Frame TVs. We gave one of these away earlier this year on the blog. Then you’ll look at some of the other types of LEDs and, if you are like most people, you’ll be confused by the terms: OLED, QLED, and Neo QLED. All three are great. All three do some things better than other things. For example, OLEDs have the best blacks thanks to individual self-lighting pixels. QLED has the best brightness (great for bright rooms) thanks to the backlighting. Neo QLEDs are the best combination thanks to their arrays of mini-LED backlighting. Samsung QLED and Neo QLEDs have other advantages too including lower costs.
You can learn about both types of Samsung televisions on the blog. We recently asked Shelly, the blog Editor for home theatre, to review the two televisions that we are giving away in this contest. Read her review of the new Samsung Q70C 4K UHD HDR QLED Smart TV and her review of the Samsung QN90C 4K UHD HDR Neo QLED Tizen Smart TV to learn more about each of the prizes we are giving away in this contest.
Why do you want a new TV this fall
Each year, the fall season seems to usher in not just pumpkin spice lattes and sweater weather, but also a surge in people bringing home new TV sets. Here are the top two reasons why:
1. New models and clearance sales
Television manufacturers often release new models in the spring and summer so by fall, these new releases have had time to be reviewed so you know which ones to buy. This not only help you make more informed decisions but also puts pressure on retailers to clear out older inventory to make room for the next generation of models. So whether you are looking for the best new TVs or last year’s models at significant savings, this is the best time of year.
2. Ready for holiday entertainment and sports events
The fall season is a precursor to major holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve, all of which are synonymous with family gatherings and home entertainment. People anticipate needing a better or bigger TV to host movie marathons, special broadcasts, and, of course, holiday specials. Additionally, fall is a significant season for sports with the NFL, NBA, and NHL seasons bringing excitement into our homes. The lure of watching big games and key matchups on a shiny new screen can be hard to resist.
Fall is a perfect storm of incentives; it’s the season not just for falling leaves but also for finding the perfect new TV for your home on television sets. And it’s the perfect time for us to have a contest giving two of the newest and best TVs away.
How to enter
Entering this contest is easy and you can in three different ways (once per method):
- In a comment below, tell us at least two reasons why you would like a new TV this fall, and what two shows are you most looking forward to watching if you win this contest.
- In a comment beneath Shelly’s review of the Q70C, tell us one thing you learned about that television from Shelly’s review, and let us know what your ideal TV size would be for your home.
- In a comment beneath Shelly’s review of the QN90C, tell us how many hours of TV get watched in your home, and one thing that you learned about this television from Shelly’s review.
What you can win
At the end of this contest, we will randomly draw two winners. One will receive the Samsung QN90C TV that Shelly reviewed and the other will receive the Samsung Q70C TV that Shelly reviewed.
This contest runs from Sept 15th to Oct 1st.
Remember you can enter in three different ways. You might also want to tell your friends about this contest. As I said, this is the time of year when many people get a new TV, and some of your friends may be very happy to learn about the new Samsung TVs and have a chance to win one too.

My Samsung Tizen 43 inch is no longer supported by Samsung so I can really use a new TV. Just have to catch up with some old shows as nothing is in production at the moment owing to the actors and writers strike down in the states,,,
Would love a new TV as the old one is on its last legs. Have a bright room and can’t wait for the hockey season as well as watching the 3 different FBI franchises.
I am looking forward the the Masked Singer and the Voice. With fall coming I need a new, bigger TV to get through the long winter. I also need one with better sound.
I would like a new tv this Fall because my current tv is pretty old plus Fall is a great time to watch sports. As far as the tv shows I would most like to watch – not sure what to say with the ongoing writers strike so I guess I will go with unscripted tv shows such as The Amazing Race and Survivor.
My old TV broke and a new one that is bigger would be easier on the eyes. I would watch Star Trek Lower Decks and Fraiser.
I run 2 LG TVs. Both are pre 2010 1080p TVs. I use them as my Computer Monitors and often find myself wishing for a bigger screen. 2 Shows, Star Trek Strange New Worlds and Discovery

Our television set is really old so a new one would make a great difference for our enjoyment. I’m excited to watch The Masked singer and Hockey!
I would love a new large TV as the current one I have is far too small to watch all the amazing movies and TV shows that are out now. Looking forward to the new season of Quantum Leap.

Would like a bigger TV in the living room and a lot of nice TV shows I have yet to watch.

My tv is pretty much shot black lines going vertical on the left side and I enjoy watch Wheel Of Fortune and Jeopardy.
Hockey season is starting so that and Loki Season 2.
Also, who wouldn’t want a new TV and the one we have is so old. It’s time for an upgrade, wink wink.

I’d love to win a new tv for my Mum this fall. Her “big” tv recently stopped working and she really misses it. She is a huge baseball fan and it would be awesome for her to watch the playoffs on a fancy new tv.
1. my current tv is not 4k and only at 1080p so videos aren’t the clearest
2. it also isn’t very up to date with its “smart”-ness. apps load slow and can’t download new apps
I would want to watch the One Piece and Superstore.

what two shows are you most looking forward to watching if you win this contest – 1) The Bear 2) Yellowstone
My living room tv that we watch movies on is getting old so the sound is going on it. It’s time to start looking for a new tv. I always come to this blog to get reviews on the latest tech. The reason that I neeD a new TV Is because The one I have is 40″ LN Series by SAMsung from 2006 that has a few issues. The bulbs are not as luminescent as they were at first, one or two pixels are out, AND the auDio quality neeDs to be upgraded as weLL.
Does NFL qualify as a show?? That would be one of the first two that I would watch if it is considered a show. Or BILLIONS AND NARCOS: MEXICO

i need to upgrade to a smart tv and bigger screen. looking forward for new seasons of seal team and lego masters
I would love a new TV because my family’s sole TV (a 2015 Vizio) recently had a backlight (or dimming zone) failure, leading to a permanent dark rectangle on the screen. I would also like to surprise my partner with something that is outside of our budget!
I would watch Fargo and The Walking Dead: Daryl Nixon!
I’d love a new TV because mine is ten years old. I’ll be watching the Voice and Survivor.
