Earlier this month we gave away some of the top laptops of the year. Now we are giving away two of the top televisions. Learn about the new Samsung TVs, then enter for a chance to win.

Why you should be looking at Samsung TVs in 2023

Have you looked at the range of TVs on display at a Best Buy store these days? I have. Impressive. Almost all of them are LED TVs, though there are a range of types of LED TVs. In the store your eyes will first be drawn to the stunning Samsung Frame TVs. We gave one of these away earlier this year on the blog. Then you’ll look at some of the other types of LEDs and, if you are like most people, you’ll be confused by the terms: OLED, QLED, and Neo QLED. All three are great. All three do some things better than other things. For example, OLEDs have the best blacks thanks to individual self-lighting pixels. QLED has the best brightness (great for bright rooms) thanks to the backlighting. Neo QLEDs are the best combination thanks to their arrays of mini-LED backlighting. Samsung QLED and Neo QLEDs have other advantages too including lower costs.

Why do you want a new TV this fall

Each year, the fall season seems to usher in not just pumpkin spice lattes and sweater weather, but also a surge in people bringing home new TV sets. Here are the top two reasons why:

1. New models and clearance sales

Television manufacturers often release new models in the spring and summer so by fall, these new releases have had time to be reviewed so you know which ones to buy. This not only help you make more informed decisions but also puts pressure on retailers to clear out older inventory to make room for the next generation of models. So whether you are looking for the best new TVs or last year’s models at significant savings, this is the best time of year.

2. Ready for holiday entertainment and sports events

The fall season is a precursor to major holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve, all of which are synonymous with family gatherings and home entertainment. People anticipate needing a better or bigger TV to host movie marathons, special broadcasts, and, of course, holiday specials. Additionally, fall is a significant season for sports with the NFL, NBA, and NHL seasons bringing excitement into our homes. The lure of watching big games and key matchups on a shiny new screen can be hard to resist.

Fall is a perfect storm of incentives; it’s the season not just for falling leaves but also for finding the perfect new TV for your home on television sets. And it’s the perfect time for us to have a contest giving two of the newest and best TVs away.

What you can win

At the end of this contest, we will randomly draw two winners. One will receive the Samsung QN90C TV that Shelly reviewed and the other will receive the Samsung Q70C TV that Shelly reviewed.

This contest runs from Sept 15th to Oct 1st.

We must be the only people without Netflix or other streaming service so with a bigger TV, we would also treat ourselves to our first streaming service so that we can watch Stranger Things, NFL Games, and lots of action movies that truly benefit from the big screen and sound experience.

  17. 2 reasons i would like a new tv this fall well the first one would be because I had a house fire and my t.v. melted and i didnt have renters insurance so i wasn’t covered for anything that was lost .   37. With my television getting older, ten plus years, I am guessing that it’s life expectancy is running down. Being on a fixed income due to my disability I have not been looking forward to this. The better resolution is likely better for my eyes as well. Two things that would be great to see on a new television is of course the upcoming NHL season as the Ottawa Senators enter the Stanley Cup playoffs this year. Also I think that it would be great for watching sci-fi shows such as Star Wars, Star Trek and Stargate SG-1.

  38. We have been here in Canada since 10 months and we dont have a TV yet. So thats the first and most important reason. We have been using PC monitors as TV for now, so the 2nd reason would be to stop doing that.

  48. Fall has always been a season for getting cosy at home and watching a movie with family. I’d love a new TV to replace the 10 year old we have down in the family room. I also want a new TV with more HDMI inputs. We have a couple of TV streaming devices and a games console but only 2 HDMI ports so we always have to swap input cables.
