Samsung announcements CES 2022

Samsung has always impressed at CES, but this year they’re turning more heads than usual. Not only did they announce a living room-sized MicroLED TV, but they’ve also announced a very impressive pairing of quantum dot technology and OLED. Here’s a quick recap of Samsung TV announcements at CES 2022.

Samsung announces new TVs at CES 2022

With the release of the 65″ QD-OLED TV, Samsung took home the CES 2022 Best of Innovation award.

True RGB self-emitting Quantum Dot OLED

You know that having an OLED means your TV can project realistic colour and true black. If you have a TV with quantum dots, you know your TV will be brighter and more vivid than a TV without it. Samsung decided to pair the two technologies by designing a QD OLED.

The Samsung 65″ QD-OLED TV combines the contrast of RGB OLED with the colour and brightness of quantum dots. Quantum dots are generally only paired with Mini-LED, so the combination with OLED promises to be nothing short of spectacular.

The Samsung 65″ QD-OLED TV has an Infinity One Design, Object Tracking Sound technology, and is powered by the 2022 Neo Quantum Processor. It also has an astounding 144Hz refresh rate and four HDMI 2.1 inputs for gaming consoles and more. I can’t wait to see this TV in person, and it’s definitely going to take OLED to a new level.

Samsung TVs win Innovation Honoree awards

Samsung MiniLED

Although it’s the Samsung QD-OLED that made jaws drop, there were several other Samsung TVs announced at CES 2022. Three of their TVs won Innovation Honoree awards, and all feature blistering fast 144Hz refresh rate.

The 50″ Samsung QN90B is the world’s first 144Hz 4K TV. Gaming on this TV will be better than you can imagine thanks to a new intuitive user interface featuring GameBar2.0. The game bar lets gamers monitor and customize the display, expand the game’s minimap, and streamline setup for games without a console or PC.

Samsung’s 75″ QN95B is a 4K Neo QLED with spectacular, better-than-real-life picture quality. It uses backlight control technology with Shape Adaptive Light control and better than ever AI upscaling, plus it has 144Hz refresh rate and unique top layer speakers to provide an immersive, three-dimensional true Atmos sound experience for everything you watch or play.

8K is on its way to the mainstream and the Samsung 85″ QN900B Neo QLED 8K TV could be your first 8K TV. It’s an upgrade on the Samsung QN900A and has 8K resolution, Shape Adaptive Light Control, 14-bit brightness, and 144Hz 4K refresh rate. It’s an impressive 85″, but it’s a true gamer TV with an enhanced three-layer object tracking sound system that fills every corner of the room with audio. It’s a seamless TV to set up thanks to the Flexible One Connect Box.

Samsung MicroLED in a smaller size

Samsung TVs CES 2022

Samsung announced their MicroLED TVs last year at CES, but this is the year this new technology may start to hit living rooms. They’ve announced the release of MicroLED in three sizes including 110″, 101″, and a home theatre-friendly size of 89″. MicroLED is the wave of the future and has amazing picture quality that could OLED. This technology uses 25 million micrometer LEDs, supports 20-bit greyscale depth, and has a bezel-less design that’s all screen.

You’ll enjoy different modes with a MicroLED TV including Art Mode that turns your room into an art gallery, Multi-View that lets you view content from four different sources at once, and Dolby Atmos audio that surrounds you from the top, side, and bottom channel speakers.
