Parties are good for your overall health

I’m no doctor, and although I’ve seen my share of TED Talks, I’ll ask you to please take my findings with a grain of salt. But in my 32 years on this planet, one thing seems more and more evident: A happy life = better health. Now, there are a multitude of components that comprise a happy life, but the more I read the literature and watch the videos, I’m convinced that one event combines more than a couple of these components: a party. My definition of party, by the way, is two or more people coming together for the purpose of enjoying food, entertainment, and each other’s company. I’m not just talking about a 20-hour group rager, although I don’t disapprove of those kinds of get-togethers either (in moderation.)

Here’s why I believe parties are good for your health:

  1. Social: Loneliness creates mental health issues and impacts longevity. A party isn’t just about letting loose, it’s a ritual of belonging: people come together to connect with and be a part of their community.
  2. Music: Music changes your perspective and transforms your mood. It improves your blood circulation and lowers your levels of stress-related hormones, such as cortisol. Music also strengthens emotional regulation and promotes benefits in attention and memory.
  3. Dancing: Not just a great cardiovascular workout, dancing is like a visit to the gym—but fun! Dancing strengthens bones and muscles, improves balance, and even staves off illnesses. You don’t have to be a phenomenal dancer to reap the benefits, you just have to move your body to the beat!
A good party doesn’t have to incorporate all three of these components, but a great party usually does. All you need is a select soundtrack and a speaker that pumps out the playlists with enough power to do each song justice. That’s where Charge 4 enters the narrative.

JBL Charge 4 makes a good time great

Charge 4 is just the ticket for planned parties, impromptu get-togethers, and chillaxing hangouts. It pairs with your smartphone for wireless Bluetooth streaming, and can even connect to another smartphone at the same time, so you can share DJ responsibilities with a friend. A specialized driver and dual bass radiators deliver full spectrum sound that immerses everyone in the anthems that are sure to get them moving and having a great time.
Charge 4 is made to go where you go. Think about it. It’s easier to bring great audio to the people than to bring the people to great audio, which means portable speakers like Charge 4 make it easier than ever to get a great party started. Gentle handling is fine, but Charge 4 has Keith-Richards-like longevity. This road dog will survive the rough-and-tumble of an on-the-go lifestyle filled with parties in different places. It can even withstand a plunge in the pool or having a glass of water thrown in its face!
Twenty hours of playtime means this Bluetooth speaker also possesses enough stamina to go the distance at one of those non-stop ragers I mentioned earlier. And because all our music is accessed on our smartphones these days, JBL Charge 4 works double duty as a power bank, so you can connect your phone via USB and charge while your songs play.
You can sync up to 100 JBL speakers when you want to amp up the sound to epic proportions, so if any of your friends own a JBL speaker that’s Connect+ enabled, ask them to bring it along. Now you’ve got a great party on your hands!

  1. Music because you cant have a good party unless the sound quality is good and everyone can hear it perfectly

  2. Even though social is the most important, you still need great music and JBL Charge 4 can definitely make a great party into an epic party.

  3. Music and being able to take the JBL Charge 4 wherever I go means that music is always close by.

  4. JBL Charge 4 speakers would totally enhance my husband’s outdoor musical experience in the summer. He spends as much time as possible jamming to his favourite tunes all night, every night. Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  5. Social! We spend so much time in the online world now that its always refreshing to see your friends in person!

  6. Music, without tunes a party is not a party. These speakers would help to bring the tunes no mater where you are.

  7. Music is important for me. It makes the day go by much quicker at work. As a equipment operator, I spend most of my day alone and unfortunately my machine does not have a radio.

  8. Being a stay at home mom, with limited daily adult interactions, I will definitely say the “Social” component is most important to me at this point in my life. Reminiscing about old songs and concerts I attended with my friends while we listen on this speaker. 🙂

  9. Social, we always enjoy having music on when sitting around a campfire, this speaker would be an extreme upgrade to the speaker i currently have!

  10. Music for sure. It brings people together, it is soothing, but also can get people going. Music has, is and always will be a big part of my family and my life.

  11. Social is the most important part. Music and dancing add to the enhancement of social engagement

  12. Music is important to me , the JBL charge with 20 hours playtime is fantastic especially if your at the beach

  13. The most important component of a party is the social aspect. Humans are a social animal and we need interpersonal connections to be healthy.

  14. Definitely music! Many things can be accomplished while listening to music or you can do nothing, just lay back and veg.

  15. Music is most important to me, by far. The JBL Charge 4 would easily help me listen to all the music I want to hear! I usually use my tablet but there’s only one very small, and very tinny-sounding speaker. I tried using my TV recently but the speakers on that are going so, everything comes out all buzzy-sounding. Anyway, thanks for the opportunity!!

  16. For me, it would be the social aspect. I love getting together with friends and family for a party!

  17. Social…..by keeping the party lively for as many hours as needed, without the need for recharge

  18. The Social component is the most important for me; it allows people to connect with one another, whether its through conversation, touch, being in the vicinity of others, etc. Music and the JBL speaker would be one component that would bring people together.
