A few years ago Google rocked my world by releasing the first version of Google Chromecast. I loved it! It turned any television into a smart TV, instantly … and for an amazingly low price. Since then, the whole chromecast ecosystem has become more extensive and useful. I use my original chromecast every day and I can’t wait to try the newest version, now with a great Google TV interface. Read on to learn more and to find out how to enter for a chance to win one.

Chromecast changed TV watching forever

Casting from my phone to my TV still feels magical. I’ve been doing it for several years using a Google Chromecast and it amazes me how easy, effortless, and predictable casting is. Few technologies promise so much from such a tiny device and deliver beyond expectation consistently as well as a Chromecast.

And the Chromecast experience keeps getting better. At first there were only a few things we could cast: Netflix was the most important! Then Prime became available and other apps. This summer I casted NHL games from the CBC sports app. The video and audio were fantastic.

Google improved on perfection with the new Chomecast with Google TV

I rarely use superlatives for the obvious reason that few things are “always” or “never” a certain way. For example, some people say it’s always raining in Vancouver … no, it’s not! However, I can say I am always happy with my Chromecast. I rely on it for almost all of my TV viewing. It’s technology at its best because it does what I expect it to do, every time.

That’s why I can’t wait to try the new Chromecast with Google TV. This new version has a remote that you can talk to via Google Assistant integration. The remote adds more funcationality to Chromecast since you won’t have to use your phone at all if don’t want to. Also new is an interface on the television that simplifies the process of finding series you are watching or new shows you want to watch.   12. What I like for Chromecast is its latest features. It’s update and the voice command as you say Hey Google. It’s nice to win this and will make life easier for people who are multi-tasking. A convenient for having a grandmother who loves to watch TV with the voice command they can access. Who tells you that old dogs can’t teach new tricks that technology nowadays. I am desperately to stream Netflix and the same time Sport channel for my lovely grandmother.

  13. I hate watching videos or movies on a small screen like my phone or tablet. With a Chromecast I can watch movies with my family so we’re not huddled around my phone. I would change my life!

  24. I recently had to get rid of my cable, because we can’t afford it. I was so excited when I read about the new Chromecast with Google TV about a month before its release. I would have already bought one if I had the money. I don’t have a smart TV so I can’t watch anything now. I look at different articles about it everyday, and even check stores near me. Lol, Whether I win one or not, hopefully I’ll somehow get one soon. Then I’ll be counting down for Stadia support in 2021.

  28. Having a Samsung Smart-but-dumb TV, with no voice control and casting features, this would dial the smartness to a 11.
    I like the voice control features and the new remote, so the phone is not required anymore. I would love to binge watch Netflix and Amazon Prime while my daughter fights (and wins always 😉 ) to watch Youtube Kids.

  45. I got this on day one. I already have 2 other chromecasts, but this is much better. I also have a roku tv and fire stick. Chromecast interface is slick and gets better the more I use it.

  47. I love how easy it is to use. I love how i can watch videos and movies on my tv with a press of a button on my phone. I also want to learn how to use the chromecast to watch other shows and movies through google. I’ve had the older models and i gave them to friends who didn’t have cable just internet and they love them. I want to experience the new chromecast.
