DJI drones are versatile for photography and really fun to fly. Their newest model, the DJI Mavic Air 2, can film in 4K at 60 frames per second! That is seriously amazing. It can reach amazing heights, speeds, and distances, so it’s much more than a toy. However, when used responsibly it elevates your senses—you’ll feel like you’re a bird in the sky! Read more about the newest drone in the DJI family, then enter for a chance to win the demo model that we had reviewed on the blog.

What can you do with a drone

A drone is more than just a flying camera. It does fly; and it has a camera. But fly a drone and suddenly you realize this is a very unique experience. First there is the feeling of lift-off—you’ll never forget that surge of excitement. Remember you are in control, elevating, tilting, drifting to the left and right. There is a learning curve, but it’s not steep; quickly you adjust your perspective to react appropriately to capture the bird’s eye view of your surroundings. If you are able to use it near your home, you’ll will gain a new appreciation for the world around you. For me, rising about ten metres above my house allowed me to capture a view of several gulf islands including Saltspring and Pender.

DJI packs their drones with amazing features

With the new DJI Mavic Air 2, you will be able to do so much more than you might think from the moment you turn it on. It is so easy to use. We sent the prize for this contest to Shelly to test it out and she was amazed that she instantly was able to capture smooth, professional looking videos, right out of the box. Watch her video to see some of the images of her farm taken with the drone.

Shelly shows what’s included with the drone, how to assemble the drone, and offers some tips on how to fly it. She also speaks to many of the unique features that enable you to do some really interesting things with simple menu selections. I love the Helix Quickshot function!

The Mavic Air 2 has many features to help you get the most from flying it. It can even help you find safe flying areas near your home. This is very important; you will want to be sure about what areas near you allow drones and if there are maximum height restrictions too. You should read Shelly’s article for a more in-depth descripton of some of the key features that she tested. Be sure to return to this page to learn what you need to do to enter our contest.

  1. I am most excited to try the sport mode on the DJI Mavic Air 2 drone to see how well I can fly it

  2. I have 400 acres of bush, accessible only by ATV and many parts of the land are only accessible in the winter due to a deep stream and some swamps. I would really love to “see” my property during another season. The 10 km range and 34 minute run time would help me do this. The auto takeoff, auto land and auto return on low battery are also very enticing.

  3. Auto-follow is super important since a video of me looking at the controls would be very boring 🙂

  4. Its the 4K filming that really interests me. Great quality footage from a fantastic vantage point!

  5. Most defiantly the easy set up and easy fly is a biggie for me. Also with several photo features this would be great for exploring abandoned areas, this would be perfect!

  6. Auto-follow- I can lock onto any interesting object and follow it! Like my daughter, LOL

  7. 4K at 60 frames per second! That’s awesome, I would love this for my job and get Aerial photos / Videos of Newly Developed Subdivisions. And of course use it in the country to get wildlife / landscape shots.

  8. I love taking photos and I can take beautiful landscapes and events in 4K Ultra HD at 60fps! Yes please!

  9. I’ve never used a drone so I’m excited for every feature. But i think I’m most excited to take family photos with the quick photo option and have less hand held selfies like we do today. Lol

  10. The auto landing feature is one of the most important features for me! My last drone suffered from a catastrophic landing and is no longer with me!

  11. I’m really eager to try out the ocusync I have the original mavic air and that’s my only gripe with it is that it doesn’t use the ocusync technology connection

  12. Ive never had a drone so its all awesome! The 4k ability would make some amazing videos

  13. The 4k video! Getting great aerial footage of the beautiful places around me is something I would love to do.

  14. Ariel Filming in 4k 60 FPS is a great feature that I’m eager to try in DJI Mavic Air 2

  15. The auto landing feature would be awesome, as it would help avoid the dreaded crash landings.

  16. I am super excited to try the auto follow feature, would be great to use while travelling to get those gorgeous adventure shots

  17. I love the ‘safe fly zones’ feature. I think that would make flying the drone that much better! Thanks for the chance!
