Security cameras are for more than just watching the front door
Security cameras used to be complicated, detailed, and laborious to install, with VCRs (remember those?), timers, sensors, and more. All of that has gotten much simpler with the rise of smart home devices and technologies, so that pretty much all you have to do these days is buy a smart security camera, set it up, turn it on, and you’re good to go.
Not that you can’t still find traditional security cameras—you definitely can, and they too have gotten much easier to use in recent years. But smart security cameras offer the kind of whole-home integration that we’ve come to expect with the advent of the Internet of Things (IoT).
There are some obvious use cases for security cameras; For example, to monitor your front and back door, or to make sure that the kids are playing safely while you’re upstairs working. And these are all examples many people think of when they hear security camera. But the smart home introduces many new variables to think about.
For instance, what if you’re out of town and have programmed your smart lights to turn off and on at random times to make it look like someone is home? How can you be sure they’re doing that?
Well, with a smart security camera like the Logitech Circle 2, you can not only program your smart lights from your phone, you can also make sure they’re lighting up when they’re supposed to by looking at the feed from your Logitech Circle 2 (all on the same smartphone or tablet).
Or, what if you want to check in and see if the tomatoes growing in your smart garden are ripe, but you’re at work? Well, just log in to your phone and take a quick peek with your Logitech Circle 2.
As is probably evident from these examples, security cameras can do a lot more for you than the standard uses people tend to think of. The Logitech Circle 2 has some unique features that make it a great addition to your smart home setup, so read on to find out what those are.
