Security cameras are for more than just watching the front door
Security cameras used to be complicated, detailed, and laborious to install, with VCRs (remember those?), timers, sensors, and more. All of that has gotten much simpler with the rise of smart home devices and technologies, so that pretty much all you have to do these days is buy a smart security camera, set it up, turn it on, and you’re good to go.
Not that you can’t still find traditional security cameras—you definitely can, and they too have gotten much easier to use in recent years. But smart security cameras offer the kind of whole-home integration that we’ve come to expect with the advent of the Internet of Things (IoT).
There are some obvious use cases for security cameras; For example, to monitor your front and back door, or to make sure that the kids are playing safely while you’re upstairs working. And these are all examples many people think of when they hear security camera. But the smart home introduces many new variables to think about.
For instance, what if you’re out of town and have programmed your smart lights to turn off and on at random times to make it look like someone is home? How can you be sure they’re doing that?
Well, with a smart security camera like the Logitech Circle 2, you can not only program your smart lights from your phone, you can also make sure they’re lighting up when they’re supposed to by looking at the feed from your Logitech Circle 2 (all on the same smartphone or tablet).
Or, what if you want to check in and see if the tomatoes growing in your smart garden are ripe, but you’re at work? Well, just log in to your phone and take a quick peek with your Logitech Circle 2.
As is probably evident from these examples, security cameras can do a lot more for you than the standard uses people tend to think of. The Logitech Circle 2 has some unique features that make it a great addition to your smart home setup, so read on to find out what those are.
The Logitech Circle 2 makes home security a snap

Once you get it installed, the Circle 2 can utilize its 180° lens, large field of view, and 1080p Full HD resolution to stream crisp, clear images of whatever area you’ve set it up in right to your phone or tablet. I need my front door covered by security cameras.
Front & garage doors
Side entrances
That is an easy question, the front door and the back deck.
My front door and my living room to keep an eye on my puppy!
My front porch and my back door
My roof and my front door (I want to watch for raccoons).
I would want the backyard and the front door to be covered by security cameras. 😉
Back entrance and yard…and front entrance.
The front door and garage area.
I would use it to monitor my mail box at my front door.
I’d put a camera at the front of my house and one at the back.
The front door and the patio door.
Front door and back gate
Definitely my uncovered back driveway. Have had 2 car prowlings occur in the past year, sigh.
My front and backdoor is where I would want covered by security cameras.
The front door, to see who’s coming by.
The front door and the backyard
Id like these for my back yard with the walk in basement and side garage door.
I need my front door and my garage door covered by security cameras. We have had a car stolen right out of our driveway, taken to the city and smashed up. We really could use some security cameras. WE have been warned that people are going around stealing dogs in our neighborhood. It would be great for the safety of my dogs.
Back deck and garden and driveway
The door to my apartment, which is in the basement and only has a simple patio door – way too easy for a thief to break in. I’d then like the other one for the front door upstairs – especially since my grandkids upstairs often forget to lock it!
My front yard and backyard.
the front door and in front of the garage
I would install one to monitor the front of the property and for sure one for the back of the property.
I would love to monitor the back yard to see who is constantly raiding my garden, and the front of the house to see who is picking the flowers!
Front door and back yard. Too much crime going on in everyone’s neighbourhood. The extra “eyes” would be helpful.
I had a break-in several years ago – so I would choose the rear door and back porch for these cameras.
Side and front door
I wish we had coverage for our back deck and side of garage.
My apartments balcony and from my living room which also covers my front door. Keeps the land lady honest too 🙂
I would have one at front door and in the backyard.
Would put this near the blind spots on the side of the house.
I would put a camera in main living area inside house and one camera outside deck/back door.
My front and back door would be the best places to put them.
My front door and my patio. Thank you!
Front door and side area of garage
Front and back doors
This would be great for my front door and back basement door!
Front and back door
I would put one in the front of the house and another one at the back door.
my front and back door
Front and back door
I would put a camera at the back door as well as the front door.
Front door and back door
back door and garage area
If I was fortunate enough to win the Logitech Circle 2 Security pack, I would have one camera located at the front of the house and one at the back door.
I would love to have a camera by our back door and the garage entry. This would remove so much stress from my mind since there have been many beak-ins in our neighbourhood lately.
In the front to keep an eye on the dog, and also in the back patio area.
My front and back doors.
