Facebook PortalIn these unprecedented times, it’s more important than ever to keep in touch with your colleagues, friends, family, and loved ones—and Facebook Portal was designed just for that purpose. Like many of us, you’re probably spending the majority of your time at home right now. You might be juggling the kids, the cats, and the dogs while you’re trying to work from home, or perhaps you’re spending your days watching oodles of Netflix and playing the hottest Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One games. (Maybe all of the above?) Enter this contest and, if you win, you’ll be able to spend more time connecting with the people you work with or the people you love: the prize is three Facebook Portal devices.

Face-to-face communications always give you that extra something

Sure, you could send an email. But isn’t it nice to see someone’s face light up when you say hello? That’s backed up by science. One of the world’s foremost experts on human communication, Professor Albert Mehrabian’s famed “7-38-55 rule of personal communication” breaks human interactions down to a general ratio of 7% verbal, 38% tone of voice, and 55% body language. That means your facial expressions, gestures, and other movements can make up more than half of your message!

Facebook Portal keeps you in close contact with your colleagues

Perhaps you’re operating a small office, or you have a few major clients for your freelance gig. Sometimes a giant back-and-forth email thread isn’t the most efficient way to get things done. Whether you’re separated by a few streets—or more than a few time zones, you can stay in touch just like you would in a face-to-face meeting by using Facebook Portal. As long as they’ve got Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp, they can link up for video calls, and you’ll be working like never before.

Facebook Portal is also great for keeping in touch with family and friends

Lots of people love Facebook Portal because they can make live video calls to friends and family, display their photos, and more. With more families and friends in different places around the globe, it’s more important than ever to stay in touch. So pop online just to say hi to your best friend, or read stories to your nieces, nephews, or grandchildren. And when you’re not using the device, Facebook Portal has a feature so it can double as a picture frame to display all your favourite Facebook and Instagram photos. How great is that?

How to enter

Entering this contest is easy, but you can only enter once. First, read our reviews of Facebook Portal and Facebook Portal Mini, and our review of Facebook Portal TV. Then, in a comment on this article, tell us one feature you love about Facebook Portal and who you’ll be keeping in contact with the most.

What you can win

At the end of the contest, we’ll select one winner to receive a Portal bundle that includes one Facebook Portal, one Facebook Portal Mini, and one Facebook Portal TV. Keep one for yourself and send the others to the people you want or need to keep in contact with most.

This contest runs from March 31st to April 16th.

Remember, you can only enter once, but you probably know someone else who would love to see the smiling faces of their colleagues, family, and friends all the time. Let them know about this contest so they too have a chance to win—and make their day!

  1. The privacy feature is most important. I live far away from my parents, this is a perfect way to connect

  2. I would love to win this so I can keep in touch with relatives in Ireland during the Covid 19 crisis

  3. Smart Camera is great feature, would use it to connect with my mom who is not live in Canada

  4. The built in privacy features would definitely be the most important aspect of this awesome technology for me, and I’d use it the most to communicate with all my overseas friends, especially at these crazy times!

  5. Don’t think it was mentioned, but this is the ultimate way for “at risk” family members to stay connected during the current state of the world.

  6. I like the idea of face to face communication, and I would use it to connect with my new grandson.

  7. I most like it allows up to 7 people to connect all at once. I would like to connect with my family – my daughter, aunt, uncle, and cousin.

  8. I really like the Superframe feature of the Facebook Portal. I have been looking for something high tech that doubles as a picture frame to display my favourite Facebook photos at home!

  9. The ease of use you described in your review really captured my attention as well as the security features. Being able to see my daughter, son in law and grandson while talking to them would be amazing. Even better would be to be able to do it all on the Portal TV with the added addition of the Smart Camera!

  10. I like that camera can follow you around and also ability to talk to different people simultaneously. I would talk to my relatives overseas.

  11. Wow this is a cool product, it would be great to have video chats with my family who do not live close to me. At this time, i think i would give one of the portals to my Mom, while we are not able to visit in person due to self isolation. The feature called SuperFrame, is great that it allows a slideshow of my photos on Facebook, Instagram and my phone, to display when i am not using the portal to connect with friends and family. I really would like to see a display of all my pictures.

  12. The ability to video chat with a group of people and see everyone, including Kermit and Fozzy.

  13. I would love to see the expressions on my grand kids faces and their parents. The privacy feature is nice along with live video calls.

  14. I like the Facebook Watch that lets you and your family/friends watch movies and shows while together on a video call.

  15. I love how it will follow who is talking so a group of people can interact together, this would be great for keeping in touch with our family in England!

  16. I live at a distance from my family and now that I have a child the distance feels greater than usual. I appreciate that I could make live video calls in portrait mode with family to keep in touch better.

  17. I love that I can make video calls and I would keep in closer contact with my elderly relatives who live out of town … and whom I love!!

  18. I love that you can make live video calls with these and it sounds like they are not too difficult to set up. Being a technology challenged senior easy set-up is very important. This would be so great especially now as it would allow me to see and talk to my children and grandchildren.

  19. I think the Smart Camera is a great feature that I would love to try out. We would use it to connect with family.
