Facebook PortalIn these unprecedented times, it’s more important than ever to keep in touch with your colleagues, friends, family, and loved ones—and Facebook Portal was designed just for that purpose. Like many of us, you’re probably spending the majority of your time at home right now. You might be juggling the kids, the cats, and the dogs while you’re trying to work from home, or perhaps you’re spending your days watching oodles of Netflix and playing the hottest Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One games. (Maybe all of the above?) Enter this contest and, if you win, you’ll be able to spend more time connecting with the people you work with or the people you love: the prize is three Facebook Portal devices.

Face-to-face communications always give you that extra something

Sure, you could send an email. But isn’t it nice to see someone’s face light up when you say hello? That’s backed up by science. One of the world’s foremost experts on human communication, Professor Albert Mehrabian’s famed “7-38-55 rule of personal communication” breaks human interactions down to a general ratio of 7% verbal, 38% tone of voice, and 55% body language. That means your facial expressions, gestures, and other movements can make up more than half of your message!

Facebook Portal keeps you in close contact with your colleagues

Perhaps you’re operating a small office, or you have a few major clients for your freelance gig. Sometimes a giant back-and-forth email thread isn’t the most efficient way to get things done. Whether you’re separated by a few streets—or more than a few time zones, you can stay in touch just like you would in a face-to-face meeting by using Facebook Portal. As long as they’ve got Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp, they can link up for video calls, and you’ll be working like never before.

Facebook Portal is also great for keeping in touch with family and friends

Lots of people love Facebook Portal because they can make live video calls to friends and family, display their photos, and more. With more families and friends in different places around the globe, it’s more important than ever to stay in touch. So pop online just to say hi to your best friend, or read stories to your nieces, nephews, or grandchildren. And when you’re not using the device, Facebook Portal has a feature so it can double as a picture frame to display all your favourite Facebook and Instagram photos. How great is that?

How to enter

Entering this contest is easy, but you can only enter once. First, read our reviews of Facebook Portal and Facebook Portal Mini, and our review of Facebook Portal TV. Then, in a comment on this article, tell us one feature you love about Facebook Portal and who you’ll be keeping in contact with the most.

What you can win

At the end of the contest, we’ll select one winner to receive a Portal bundle that includes one Facebook Portal, one Facebook Portal Mini, and one Facebook Portal TV. Keep one for yourself and send the others to the people you want or need to keep in contact with most.

This contest runs from March 31st to April 16th.

Remember, you can only enter once, but you probably know someone else who would love to see the smiling faces of their colleagues, family, and friends all the time. Let them know about this contest so they too have a chance to win—and make their day!

  8. I love it’s ability to blend into a room, it has a very modern look but is still a piece of tech. We have come so far from the days where tech was intrusive in a room, this is something I would love to display in my living room and would love to give one to my parents!

  21. I love the ease of use in utilizing this for facebook or whatsapp video chats and would use it alot with cousins in other countries

  22. Wow, this is awesome!! I love the smart camera, and the privacy feature!! Would love to win this!!

  23. Privacy and safety is of utmost concern today and thankfully Portal thought about it too. Great reviews and thanks so much for the opportunity to keep in touch with family that we can’t see in person right now and keeping in touch in new ways into the future!

“One of the things that I liked best about the Portals was the privacy they provided. By allowing users to close a little door over the camera (that also disables the mic), these smart displays show that user privacy is important and must be respected.“

  24. I think the smart camera that zooms and follows you wherever you go, it would be amazing to get my 78 year old dad one of these, he’s in FB but we can never see him for our family video chat.

  25. Really love how easy it is to setup & to move into other features, very versatile!
Thank you for helping somebody stay connected. Be safe.

  26. I miss my grandbabies so much during this time of uncertainty. I would use it for keeping in touch with them. And how cool is the augmented reality feature. The kids would love that for story time.

  27. i like that its a smart display and follows you around and you dont have to sit in front for the laptop or such for a conference.

  28. I love the whole idea. During this crazy time of our lives it would be the best was to communicate with my sister and brother(both working nurses) that I haven’t seen since the first week of March due to the pandemic. This product is a bit pricey but awesome time to advertise these new means of communication

  29. I really like that privacy feature on the Facebook Portal TV. I would be a little concerned about whether or not someone was watching me at all hours.

I would definitely send one to my mom and dad, and one to my sister so we could all keep in contact with each other, since I don’t get to see them often.

  30. How perfect would this be in our time of social distancing. I would use this to keep in touch with my gal pals!!

  31. I love the video and audio tracking and id be staying in touch with family and friends that i usually visit once a week. Since i already use video chat on FB messenger as is, this would be a no brainer. Id keep the Facebook Portal TV and give the other two to friends/family.

  32. I would keep the Facebook Portal Mini 8″ Smart Video Calling with Alexa – Black and give the other 2 away. Video chat right now is a big deal. Stay safe.

  33. i’m all about those video calls. i have family out west that i haven’t seen in years. i’d give one of these to them and another to my parent so we can all keep in touch

  34. I love that Facebook Portal also has Superframe where it displays your favourite Facebook or Instagram photos, and photos stored in your phone!

This feature would be especially nice for the grandparents, as they are the ones we would be thrilled to communicate with on the Portals! Such an amazing giveaway and great reviews also!

  35. We have been doing video calls with WhatsApp to stay connected to grandparents and cousins across Ontario. This would be fun to have kids stay in contact with family and loved ones and maybe mom could have a video wine chat

  36. One of my favourite features is the camera and how it follows you wherever you go in your area or space. That’s really handy and can keep you focused on your task whilst talking with your loved one without having to hold your phone or carry your tablet around.

I would use Facebook Portal to communicate with my sister whom lives in Toronto. We’ve always been close and this would help keep us closer and I know we could have fun with these products.

    • Love the Alexa comparability feature. Makes it user friendly.

It will be put in good use communicating with family overseas.

  37. I love the fact that it uses Facebook which is how I primarily keep up to date with family and friends out of province and country. Because I’m an acute care nurse working FT and socially distancing myself from everyone except those in my household on everyday off, I would use this to keep in contact with EVERYONE. Even my local friends whom I never see anymore. What a great way to keep everyone in touch and safe.

  38. Love the live video calls. Right now, I’d love to be able to see/chat with my mom and other family. Later I might use it for my freelance work
