The Fuji X-Pro2 is the latest in the X-Pro series of cameras, noted for their strong styling drawn from their expertise in building film cameras over the past half century. Weighty, black, and textured, these cameras feel as good as they look, adding just the right amount of heft as you lift them to shoot. The styling is actually secondary, however, to powerful optics and innovative image processing.

New Sensor, Processor

Back_Control.jpgThe X-Pro2 takes the line to new heights with a new 24 megapixels X-Trans CMOS III Image Sensor, connected directly to the X Processor Pro image processing engine. This new processor has been designed to dramatically improve image quality and the photo experience. Under the hood the X-Pro2 has dual memory card slots, with slot 1 being UHS-II capable for ultra-fast shooting. The sensor can capture 14-bit raw images, or you can choose a mode that applies in-camera processing for a finished-when-shot production flow. Like its predecessor, the X-Pro2 has over a dozen creative filters including soft focus, pop colour, and the ever-popular miniature mode. 16 film simulation modes, including some of Fujifilm’s classic film types like Provia, are available at the touch of a button.

High ISO performance has been refined, offering a range of 200-12800 in RAW, for smoother gradations and deeper black levels. Exposure compensation has been expanded to +/-5 stops, up from +/-3 stops on previous models, giving you more flexibility when you shoot. The X-Pro2 also shoots full 1080p video in 60, 50, 30, 25, and 24 frames per second, selectable in the newly refined menu.

Autofocus and Viewfinder

viewfinder.jpgShooting with an X-Pro series camera has always been a joy, but the X-Pro2 will be enjoyed by X-series lovers, thanks to faster, more accurate autofocus. Intelligent Hybrid Phase Detection Autofocus now features 273 selectable AF points, helping to capture fast action and complex shots. Framing those shots is easier than ever with the Advanced Hybrid Multi Viewfinder. It sports a multi-magnification feature that adjusts the view finder based on the lens that you’re using, with simultaneous electronic viewfinder over optical viewfinder details on the display.

New, Weather Resistant Magnesium Alloy Body

The mirrorless X-Pro2 is compatible with a full range of X-series lenses, giving any owner plenty of choice for shooting. The body is, new for this year, weather resistant. The magnesium alloy chassis is light at only 459g, and rugged for outdoor conditions. An improved series of control dials have also been integrated to make control of the camera easier and more consistent.
