We’ve written about many Samsung monitors on the Best Buy blog. We’ve also given many of them away in contests like this one. In those articles, we’ve explained why gamers prefer gaming monitors, like the G3 gaming monitor recently reviewed on the blog and that you could win if you enter this contest. Read the review to know if the Samsung G3 is your next gaming monitor

We sent a Samsung G3 monitor to Marcus for an honest test and review. He played games and did his work using the monitor then explained his experiences in an article and in this video. Take a few minutes to learn about Marcus’ experience and to see this monitor in action. Marcus clearly explains some of the great features of this monitor. One thing he does not mention though is the price. It’s a policy of the blog program that instead of mentioning price, something that can change frequently with the number of sales that Best Buy holds, we link to the Best Buy website so readers can see the accurate purchase price there. You’ll be pleasantly surprised to learn that even with all of the great features to benefit gaming and any other use you might have for this monitor, the monitor is very reasonably priced.

Future friendly monitors because gaming is not getting any slower or less demanding

Most of us will buy very few monitors in our lifetimes. We expect that this kind of technology will serve our needs for many years. There are many different monitors on the Best Buy website. You could just buy the most expensive one on the site, and that will definitely have the most advanced technology and the most modern display screen, and it may last decades.

Personally, that’s not the approach for me. I would select a monitor that’s the right size for my work space, decent refresh rate (and the 144Hz found in the Samsung G3 is more than just decent!), and priced low. The Samsung G3 would be a dream monitor for my needs. For gamers, it will be more than fast enough now and for years to come. What’s your dream monitor?

  7. THE dream monitor for us is definitely the Samsung Neo Odyssey G9. The 49″ curved screen would actually save a lot of desk real estate! Also the built-in KVM switch would eliminate a ton of wires and neatly tidy up the top and underside of our desk of wires and hdmi/usb switches. That would be a dream!

  22. On the Samsung monitor page at Best Buy, my dream monitor would have to be the 28-inch 4K Ultra HD Gaming Monitor. With G-Sync, Auto Source Switch+, and Core Sync Colour tech, along with 1ms response time and a 144hz refresh rate, the 178-degree viewing angle and high-resolution picture that can be used as a smart TV when not gaming.

  23. One of the most impressive feature in Marcus’ review would be the fact that when you combine AMD’s FreeSync with the G3’s fast 1ms response time players are guaranteed to have a smooth gaming experience.

  25. In Marcus’ review article I most definitely liked that the VA panel of the Odyssey G3 is not only great for gaming but for watching movies and consuming other content. In his testing, he found the colours to be vibrant and the monitor’s high contrast made dark areas in movies look almost black.
