One of the most personal technologies has to be the ereader, like those offered by Kobo. I realize that some of them can surf the web and view multimedia, but for me, they are made for reading books. They are perfectly designed for that one simple task. They are lightweight, with a display that is easy on the eyes in daylight, or at night, and they easily fit in one hand. Why do I love Kobo eReaders so much

Let me tell you a little story, a true story. Once upon a time I had a Kobo ereader, a gift from my children, and I used it all the time. I read a huge assortment of novels on my cherished Kobo: mysteries, historical fiction, classics, trashy pop fiction, non-fiction and more. My brain was filled with great characters and great stories. I took my Kobo everywhere: on cruises in the Caribbean, on flights to Europe, and even back and forth in my car daily so that at any moment I could take a few minutes’ break, just me and my Kobo.

Then tragedy struck: one evening while rushing to take groceries into the house to make dinner, I forgot my Kobo in the car. Wouldn’t you know it, a thief broke into my car and stole it. I was shattered! End of story. However, I still feel the loss. You never know how much you love something until it’s gone.

  1. I love my Kobo ereader for its immensely long battery life. I almost forget it had a battery. I read every night and the battery had never let me down. The orange glo that progresses through the evening is another favourite feature.

  3. I love the Kobo eReader because of how easy they are on the eyes, especially at night when I’m trying to limit my light exposure. They’re also great for traveling and not having to bring multiple bulky paperbacks in my luggage.

  10. I love being able to carry my library of almost 2000 ebooks with me wherever I go. I never run out of things to read. If I finish a book while I’m out, I can just start another! I don’t have to wait until I get home to pick up another book.

  12. Being a lifelong reader, when the e-readers first came out I was not interested In them at all. I told my husband that I liked turning the pages in an actual book plus there is nothing like the smell of a hot off the press book. After a few months of arguing with my husband over it, I finally agreed to get one. That was 6 years ago and I have never regretted it. I mean, common on, I can have hundreds of books in my purse at one time through my Kobo. It is so easy to use and being able to customize your settings to give me the best reading experience possible is AWESOME. I received an iPad as a service reward from work and I hardly use that. Why should I when I have everything I need in my Kobo

  18. I bought the basic Kobo this year and I love how it doesn’t hurt my eyes. After reading on my phone for so long (years). Switching to a dedicated ereader was heavenly. My decision to get the Kobo was the ability to borrow from the library as well which the Kindle didnt offer.

  22. I currently have a Kobo mini, a gift from my sister. I use it for downloadable content from the local library.
    I also have a Kindle paperwhite but the library does not support this. The Mini works really well, handy in a purse, however the screen is quite small. I’m hoping the Clara will be better for me.

  28. I would love to know what to love about a Kobo, but I have never been lucky enough to own one. I would love to have one to take traveling as lugging a bunch of books in my carry on bag is not always fun.

  31. What I love is the fact that the reader is lightweight and easy on my arthritis. Paper books have become too heavy for me lately.

  49. What I like most about Kobo ereaders is the possibility to adjust the fonts so I can be able to read without using glasses.
