One of the most personal technologies has to be the ereader, like those offered by Kobo. I realize that some of them can surf the web and view multimedia, but for me, they are made for reading books. They are perfectly designed for that one simple task. They are lightweight, with a display that is easy on the eyes in daylight, or at night, and they easily fit in one hand. Why do I love Kobo eReaders so much

Let me tell you a little story, a true story. Once upon a time I had a Kobo ereader, a gift from my children, and I used it all the time. I read a huge assortment of novels on my cherished Kobo: mysteries, historical fiction, classics, trashy pop fiction, non-fiction and more. My brain was filled with great characters and great stories. I took my Kobo everywhere: on cruises in the Caribbean, on flights to Europe, and even back and forth in my car daily so that at any moment I could take a few minutes’ break, just me and my Kobo.

Then tragedy struck: one evening while rushing to take groceries into the house to make dinner, I forgot my Kobo in the car. Wouldn’t you know it, a thief broke into my car and stole it. I was shattered! End of story. However, I still feel the loss. You never know how much you love something until it’s gone.

  5. I would love to have a Kobo because it is so convenient! There are books that I can only read at home because they are to big and heavy to carry around with me to school, but with a Kobo I could read whatever I want where and when I want!

  11. Why I love my Kobo,
    The Kobo Ereader is like the energizer bunnie, it keeps on going and going. I have had mine for a number of years. I just realized I could access the library with it. But, my ereader is too old and the connection is not good. It would be great to win the new Clara. I wonder what surprises would unfold.

  12. I absolutely love books, and want to keep them all for reading aging alter on. Sadly having hand held books takes up A LOT of space and I end up getting rid of them as I add to my reading list. The Kobo Clara HD will allow me to keep all of my books and not take up physical space. This reader would be a dream to have.

  18. My kobo arc (color screen kobo) decided to give up recently and I am seriously missing the convenience of 1/ reading in bed. 2/ having the internet available to check emails and surf. 3/ being completely transportable and holding a long charge.
    The kobo is the best e-reader for the price and holds so many books that I don’t have to have a whole library of paper books littering up my home.
    Page turns are easy.
    Sitting on the porch with the kobo in any light is a godsend with the backlighting.
    Being an avid reader I miss my old kobo.

  19. I love my ereader for so many reasons. I am an avid reader and juggle many books at once. An ereader is light enough to keep in my bag for anytime I am just waiting around. I could be in line somewhere, waiting for some or just on a break from work. For those who remember pre-ereader days, this is a definite plus when you are reading a book of more than 300 pages.

I suffer from a condition known as wonder lust… Being a middle aged woman who has responsibilities I can not get away physically, but turn on a kobo reader I can escape , live exciting lives go to far away places. I can solve murders and mysteries, and travel to the future all from a chair in the lunch room or my bed at night. How else can you do this all from a slim object that fits in a purse. In the years to come if l decide to move to one of these places I have read about I won’t have to pack many boxes of books just slip the kobo reader in the car and read away hours of travel until I get to the next adventure of my life.

  29. I love Kobo ereaders because I love reading multiple books at once, having a lightweight Kobo allows me to travel light instead! I love being able to keep hundreds of book in my library so I can go back and reread some of my old favourites. Loading the books is easy, once my information has been added it’s just one click and I am off on my next reading adventure! The things are amazing!!

  36. I love Kobo because I am often sick, thus I can’t go to the library or buy books. With my Kobo I can just get books from the library or buy from the Kobo store. Also when I finish a book I will always have another book or can get one easily.

  38. Kobo has a cloud! That’s the best thing. All of my books stay in my library so that if I get a new Kobo or read on another device, the books are all there. All of them! If I go on vacation I don’t have to carry anything extra. No separate book bag. Just my little Kobo e-reader with my hundreds of books to choose my next read.

  40. I cant really tell you what I love about Kobo e-readers because I have never owned one. I would however love to own one as my son plays a lot of sports and I am always lugging around a mountain of books to read while the teams warm up—sometimes for up to an hour before a game. I love that this kobo ereader is so light weight that it will fit in a small purse, Also I ran out of ink and needed some documents for my board meeting so I just loaded them onto my kobo and could bring the documents needed to my meeting! so kobo can even help in a pinch! Ive used it in the car on the way to out of town hockey games, on a cruise and at the beach I love that you can read anywhere you have the time!

  46. As I am an avid reader winning this Kobo Clara HD would be amazing. When travelling, rather than packing multiple books (and taking up valuable space in the suitcase), having a Kobo would be much more convenient, not to mention the great added feature of being able to read in the dark!

  47. Love being able to take many different choices of books with me when I travel (no need to choose between the romance or thriller until I am ready to read!) Also love the great battery life compared to tablet readers and how lightweight and easy on the eye my Kobo is, whether at night or in broad daylight!

  50. I love Kobo readers, because they’re smaller and so light! Also because when you shut it down, you can see the cover, no glare, you don’t need an antiglare screen protector. They’re fantastic!
