A Kobo ereader will likely have you reading a lot more. In fact, the newest ereader in their lineup, the Kobo Nia, with its slim, no frills approach, is all about what you are reading rather than what you are using to read. It’s light enough for anyone to hold for prolonged periods and small enough to fit into a pocket or a handbag. And it’s going to be a great prize for two people who read through my short article and enter this contest.

You won’t want to put down the Kobo Nia ereader

I love reading as much as I love writing. I have done plenty of both in my life. Of course, my job as Editor in Chief of the Best Buy Blog requires me to write a lot of articles—and read even more articles. However, I still make time for writing and reading as a pasttime; not as much as I would like to or as I did in the past, unfortunately. You see, I once had a Kobo; that was when I was writing and reading a lot. One of the first things I did after I finished writing my first novel was to upload it to my Kobo. I was so used to reading on the Kobo that I found it much easier to read and edit my own books on the Kobo too. I found it really helped my creative process.

The fact is, when you have a Kobo, you will likely get more interested in books. Partly, it’s the convenience; partly it’s the ease of picking it up and having thousands of books right there in your hands. I don’t read as much as I used to—as I said, my Kobo was stolen. It’s about time I go out and buy another one!

What will you read first on the Kobo Nia ereader

Do you have more than one book on the go at any one time? I always have more than one that I’m reading. The Kobo Nia is perfect for people like you and me since all your books can be in one place. The first book I’d put on an ereader is Kazuo Ishiguro’s “The Buried Giant.” I rarely get into fantasy type stories but I’m about 100 pages in and this one has me hooked. I would likely add a few of Ishiguro’s books now that I know I love his writing style.

Of course, you could add books to any Kobo: they have models that are waterproof, models with bigger screens … so choose the one that works for you. Ted recently reviewed the Kobo Nia and he pointed out many of the features found in the range of Kobo devices, but emphasized that the Nia is perfect for what you need it for: reading. Read his review, decide on an ereader, then load it up with books or get a subscription from Kobo and open your world to books, books, and more books.

  1. I have never had an e-reader, but there are so many books I want to read that are more readily available with an e-reader I am in the market to purchase one. If I won, the first book I would read would be Winter Garden by Kristen Hannah. I also want to read The Immortal Life of |Henrietta Lacks, Dying to be Me, Son of a Trickster, Michelle Obama’s book, Caesars of the Wilderness.

  2. I love my KOBO Clara, but would be excited to win a KOBO Nia for my partner Stan. I would start with any Sue Grafton book.

  3. I love my new Clara and would give this nia to my husband. The first book I would download would be whatever my next bookclub book is.

  4. I love my Forma, the Nia would be great for my daughter.

I would most likely read something by Nora Roberts

  5. I like the Forma 8″ and I would get Where the Crawdaddy’s Sing to read first. Thanks for the chance to win.

  6. This would make a great present for my husband who is a very avid reader. If for myself I would read the Bible. Thanks!

  7. The new Kodo Nia sounds like a great light weight one to be able to take everywhere with me, but just saw there’s an Libra H2O ereader! I’d love that to read at the beach or in the tub… the only place a mom gets alone time haha. I’d upload the Bible first as I’ll always need it! Then a good adventure book, any suggestions?!

  8. My first choice is the Kobo Forma 8″ digital reader and the first thing I’d read is the Bible as our family is reading through the story of Joseph right now and the kids like it so much.

    • My wife has the aura one and I’m really jealous every time I pick it up. Probably load up leviathan wakes and settle in.

  9. I don’t own a Kobo e-reader so winning the newest Nia would be so great. I use my iPhone for reading my crochet and loom knit books so those would be first in line for download

  10. I would choose the Kobo Libra H2O 7″ Digital eReader.
The first book that I would add to the eReader is GO TELL THE BEES THAT I AM GONE – Diana Gabledon

  11. I’d choose the Kobo Libra H2O, and the first book I’d add is Carlos Ruiz Zafon’s ‘Labyrinth of the Spirits’.

  12. I think I would like to try the Kobo Libra H2O and I would like to read ” Melanie and Me” about the first lady.

  13. The Kobo Libra H2O 7″ Digital eReader is my favourite. The first book I would add to the eReader is Off Script: Living Out Loud by Marci Ien.

  14. I like the Kobo Libra for its Carta display that makes it easy on the eyes. I would read the latest Sandra Brown book with it.

  15. My old Kobo isn’t working, so a Nia would be great. It appears to have a more friendly interface than older moderls, which is good. I ,want to re-read the Jean Auel series Earth’s Children, starting with Clan of the Cave Bear. There are a few thousand other titles in several genres – and many, many generations – waiting, as well.
