What is an external SSD?

External solid-state drive technology is a fast and reliable storage solution that can store thousands of gigabytes worth of files. Many computers nowadays have SSDs as an internal storage device, but the problem with relying on your own computer’s storage drive is that it can slow your system down as you max out its capacity. So if you’re the type that requires ample storage capacity to save your work, projects, or anything that you want a digital copy of, a dedicated external SSD is definitely a must-have.

Go digital with the Samsung T7 Shield

External SSDs are a lifesaver. Many people use SSDs to back up their computers, so they won’t lose their data in case their device gets damaged or stolen. Many professionals like photographers, videographers, and other digital creators rely on digital storage to save their bread and butter, to safe keep all their life’s work. Gamers use external SSDs to boost their computers storage capacity, so it can handle games that comes in large files.

I think anyone can benefit from using external SSDs, like the Samsung T7 Shield. There are a lot of things around us that are better kept in digital form. Use your external SSD as a backup for your important documents, like birth records or university transcripts, and other memorabilia that you want to keep for a long time. You can also use it as a digital filer to keep your tax documents, invoices, and receipts. For students, an external SSD is a good place to save a digital copy of your term papers, readings, and projects. This way you’re sure to always have a copy of them for a long time, with less the clutter.

  1. I need a Samsung T7 Shield as a reliable way to backup and migrate data from my fiancée’s and my phone. The types of files would be pictures / videos, titanium backups (android app data), and Nandroid backups (phone partitions).

  2. I need the SSD to match my new Mac, all SSD, so non SSD drives slow it down. I would use it to do graphic design work, which I do on the side.

  3. My son could use this to keep a record of live streams as he grows his fan base playing video games. As well as back up his system and photos.
