Great gifts for your tech loving dad

Most of us Dads (and even our dads) are closet tech nuts, excited over tech, pretty much any tech. 10 years ago, I could’ve cared less about controlling the temperature of my house through my phone, but 2 months ago as I was having a smart thermostat installed, I couldn’t wait. With little things like this in mind, here’s my take on some gadgets that interest me as a first time dad, and might provide you some inspiration for yours less than one week away from Christmas day.

Hey, it’s Debra again. You don’t want to be THAT neighbour, whose dog has a full-on bark-appaloosa concert every time the wind blows. The wonderful scientists, and general smarty-pants, over at Motorola have now created the MOTOPET 200. It’s a new, gentler system to train dogs using “static correction” using vibrations rather than a shock collar. MOTOPET 200 is lightweight and waterproof and looks cute on almost every dog. Who knows, maybe you can even teach him to Moto-roll-over!

Linksys wireless routers: smart and built for performance

0
Linksys was founded in the 1980s, previously owned by networking giant Cisco and is now under the ownership of Belkin. It’s probably best known for producing the top-selling router of all time, the blue and black Linksys WRT54G series. I’ve reviewed several Linksys wireless routers this year, including the WRT54G’s successor —the WRT1900AC— and always come away impressed. This is a brand that consumers and small business owners can count on for being at the centre of their high performance Wi-Fi network.

Yes, you read that right.  Developers Ivory Tower and Ubisoft have crafted themselves a map that includes all of Continental America.  A driving game that wants you to tag along with friends, fancy a road trip across country?  Pack your bags (get your snacks really, no actual packing required) and grab some friends.  It’s time for a rip down the road with The Crew.
