  3. I have a really old dash cam that really needs an upgrade. The most important part of a dash cam’s features is being able to clearly pick up license plates, even at night, and timestamping the date onto the footage.

  4. I don’t have a dash cam but always wanted one to record my drive in case of any accidents, and also record when parked to record anyone trying to damage my car.

  9. I don’t have a dashcam currently. I like the idea that the device is looking a few seconds ahead to see where my car will be. Added safety is good.

  17. The rear view camera would be a great asset to help avoid accidents and also the camera would be great in the event of an accident to prove fault.

  19. I believe a dashcam should be standard in all vehicles. We are all subject to our own interpretation of events and a dashcam would weed out some bias or misrepresented conclusions.

I currently own a dash cam (old model ) and the features I think make them a really important tool for drivers are: parking mode (so you can see hit & runs when you’re parked), microphone (so you can say a license plate number out loud if you witness a hit and run), and playback on your desktop or an app on your smartphone.

  50. I do not have a dashcam but am interested for having proof of any driving incidents, involving my car or others who need proof. GPS is a bonus!
