Thinkware dash cam contest at Best buyThinkware dash cams make driving safer for everyone. For most of us, driving is the riskiest thing we do every day. There are few things we can do to protect our loved ones who must take to the roads, for short or long drives, commuting, or even just shopping. Properly maintained vehicles is a basic necessity. Thinkware dash cams provide “next level” protection. Enter this contest and you might win either a Thinkware Q1000 or Thinkware X800 dash cam.

Should all cars come standard with a Thinkware dash cam

Seatbelts were legislated in Canada all the way back in the 1970s. Wearing a seatbelt is so commonplace, many of us can’t imagine driving without using one. Similarly, back up cameras are found in most vehicles now and not having one seems, well, just wrong. Both seatbelts and backup cameras met with resistance upon their introduction. Many people just didn’t want to put on a seatbelt. Similarly, some people felt that a back up camera was simply a crutch, ensuring that drivers didn’t learn proper technique when backing up. Yet here we are, in a better place with both technologies in use for the betterment of drivers everywhere. Driving is safer with seatbelt and backup camera tech.

I contend that dash cams are another tech that drivers and cars are safer with rather than without. And Thinkware dash cams come with a host of features to protect drivers and car owners. Once you have one, you don’t want to be without one again.

Thinkware dash cams do much more than just record the road ahead

In the movie “Next,” Nic Cage is able to protect people in danger with his gift to see a couple minutes into the future. A Thinkware dash cam is kind of doing that by capturing where your car will be in the near future. When things go wrong on the road, having that footage can make a huge difference in your life. It shows how other people reacted to a novel situation. Our memories are fallible; in moments of excitement our brains can mix up timelines, and even “remember” incorrectly. Dash cam evidence presented to the police or even to a judge (if a dispute gets that far) is indisputable.

There is a lot of information coming from a Thinkware dash cam and you can track it all in the app. This includes remote viewing of the cameras, GPS/speed detection, crash detection, impact detection while parked, and more. Imagine if your spouse is commuting to work … you can follow their progress and know if they get stopped for some reason. I was recently at a concert and my truck was broken into … I wish I had a dash cam to alert me!

  1. After reading the review for the Q1000 dash cam, I am sold on it! The advanced driver assistance features would be of benefit for improved safety and, hopefully, less damage to the car. When maneuvering in and out of increasingly smaller parking spaces, the 360 degree departure warning would provide me with better vision around the entire vehicle. The collision warnings would prompt me to move if another vehicle was too close to me, or if I was too close to obstacles.

  2. I don’t have a dash cam but it would be so useful in case of an accident, especially if the parties involved don’t agree on what happened.

  3. I don’t have a dash cam in my vehicle. This dash cam would be an important tool if someone was involved in an accident. The dash cam would record the accident. There would be evidence if needed.

  4. We don’t have a Dash Cam yet but as a driver I feel like it would be great to have one to prove good defensive driving in the event of a crash and maybe even to reduce my insurance. It could also help with other accidents or recording fireballs falling from the sky (look it up!). Great looking products.

  5. I don’t currently have one, but have been wanting one. I think it provides some peace of mind, as well as acts as a deterrent and encourages drivers to act responsibly.

  6. I do not currently have a dash camera. Having a small footprint that is less noticeable in the windshield would be beneficial.

  7. Currently dont have one. I think the features that would be good would be the ability to slow down the footage to see what really happend in an accident

  8. I don’t gave one. I think they are important to have with all the distracted drivers I’m sharing the road with its good to have the evidence

  9. I dont have a dash cam currently.

So many red light runners. When you park also would be good to have record. I was recently hit and run at the grocery store.

  10. I have been wanting a dash cam but haven’t gotten one yet because I’m unsure which features and brands are best. I would appreciate being able to see how my young adult sons are driving.

  11. I do not have one. But I see the benefit of having one for sure. They seem to also be a great tool for police. Every night you practically hear a request on the news for anyone to come forwards with dashcam footage sometimes in relation to accidents, missing person cases etc.

  12. I don’t currently own a dash cam, but it would be useful to record any incident automatically as proof for insurance purposes.

  13. I do not have one but I commute every day for work so this would be so useful to capture any mishap that may happen on my way.

  14. I don’t currently have a dash cam but I find they would be useful to record any incident automatically as proof for insurance purposes.

  15. I don’t currently have one, but there are so many bad drivers out there, and I have been involved in a hit and run and to have something like that, would help to catch these types of drivers.

  16. I don’t own a Dash Cam but as commuters often cross over into the HOV lane, I feel like it would be wise to have one to demonstrate/prove good defensive driving in the event of a crash.

  17. I do not have one …. yet , but they would be great to cover yourself in the case of some idiot driver out there end up interacting with you .

  18. I don’t currently have a dash cam, but I can see what a benefit they would be with the crazy drivers out there! I think this dashcam would be super helpful for me, especially with features like remote viewing of cameras and impact detection when parked.

  19. I don’t have a dash cam but it would be great to be able to record reckless driving and potential accidents.

  20. I do not have one, but I like that they can record in a high quality and provide evidence for any road mishaps you’re involved in or a nearby car is involved in.
