What should you look for when buying a dash cam like the many offered by Nextbase? Perhaps you want some protection for you and your family while driving at the lowest price. Nextbase has a wide range of possibilities with their series: 122, 222, 322GW, 422GW, and 522GW models. Alternatively, you may want something that is future-friendly, has the newest technology, and tons of features. They just announced their newest model: the 622GW 4K dash cam. Take some time to learn about Nextbase dash cams to return here to enter for a chance to win one of five that we are giving away.

What are you looking for in a dash cam?

I personally don’t own a dash cam. It’s not that I don’t care about the advantages they offer, I just haven’t got around to buying one yet. But if I was, I would want something in the middle of the Nextbase series: probably a 322GW or 422GW. Perhaps it’s that the review done by Dave Neufeld was extremely persuasive? Or somehow it resonated with me in a way the other Nextbase articles have not. After all, I think all the writers did a great job examining the different models and clearly explaining what they liked and did not like about each: pros and cons. I think what is more likely is that I just like the 422GW most because I feel it’s right for me in a way that I can’t quite explain.

Nextbase keeps raising the bar on what a dash cam can do

Not that I am averse to perfection. I have not seen the new model that was just announced today, the 622GW; nor have I sent it for review—Nextbase haven’t sent me samples yet. But judging from the specifications and features, it is a step above the rest. The features include an impressively clear 4K image at 30 fps, image stabilization, and Amazon Alexa built in. I love that if you are involved in an accident, this dash cam will register the most recent footage as high priority and not let it get recorded over.

So, now your options are bigger. Of course, if you win one of the five prizes in this contest, which include a 122, 222, 322GW, 422GW, and 522GW models, then you can learn from experience what you want in a dash cam. First though, you will need to think about which one has the features you need.

How to enter

Entering this contest is easy, but you can only enter once on this post and once on the article about the new 622GW dash cam. In one comment below each article tell us which features you absolutely need in a dash cam, and which Nextbase model is therefore your favourite. You can do some research before deciding by reading the articles or looking at the product pages (I put all the links you need above).

What you can win

At the end of this contest we will select five (5) winners and randomly assign them to receive one of the five prizes: a Nextbase 122, 222, 322GW, 422GW, and 522GW models. Each prize also comes with a hardwire kit and a carry case that includes a 32 GB microSD card.

This contest runs from August 27th until September 10th.

Remember, you can only enter once. However, you have friends and family who can also benefit by owning one of these Nextbase dash cams, so please share this contest with them.

  1. I absolutely need to have the QuickLink Wi-Fi backed by MyNextbase Connect app that lets you share the footage with a smartphone or a tablet and the 10Hz GPS that creates accurate location data so you always know where footage was recorded! I would choose the Nextbase 322GW Full HD 1080p Dash Cam as that one is my favourite!

  2. The idea of having software that is capable of providing your exact physical location to within 3m squared of accuracy could be life-saving in the event of an accident.

  3. My husband could benefit from the 622GW. It has all the latest features that would be beneficial in his job; call outs include night driving; snow covered roads; remote locations (GPS). Some of these areas can be unsafe due to thefts & he would be out by himself.

  4. I do not own a dash cam so anyone of these would be welcome! If I had to choose I would say the Alexa built in.

  5. I would like to try the 322GW model. It seems to have a nice array of features I need like Auto on/off mode, autosave, GPS location data and rear module compatibility at a reasonable price.

  6. My fave Nextbase model is the 522GW because it has all you need! Features I need are: 1)Lock file button saves important videos to a protected folder on the memory card
2)Convenience of connecting to a smart phone with Bluetooth feature to the MyNextbase connect app with AutoSync
3)The rear view camera feature which is also important for any rear end collisions!
4)Easy strong suction camera mount with stable magnetic clip for easy removal

  7. I need the parking mode. Car is parked and still recording as needed. This is a feature that I do not have in my current dashcam.

The model i would like to try is the newest model of course; 622GW, 4 k model

  8. Being hit and trying to prove your innocence can be stressful. This definitely would of came in handy when I was hit unexpectedl (side swipped). The Nextbase 622GW that has all-around protection with 4K image quality in the front and 1080p full HD coverage in the back is what I like about this model dashcam. Thanks for the chance Best Buy, stay safe everyone!

  9. Having a camera that has high image quality is the most important the 422w seems like a good option for this

  10. for me its the 522GW a couple of the features I like
    1) Integrated polarizing lens significantly minimizes windscreen glare and reflection
    2) Loop recording keeps the camera rolling even after the memory is full
3 3″ HD IPS LED touchscreen for a brighter view and for engaging in user-friendly menu selection and playback options

  11. The 522 has Intelligent Parking Mode with motion sensors detects movements and bumps on your vehicle when left unattended, this is a great feature.

  12. The Image Stabilization and an Extreme Weather Mode on the 633GW. When weather is bad there’s more chances of accidents and would need clear and useable video during those times.

  13. The key feature I absolutely need is 4K for clarity (I.e. license plate detection) so I would want the 622GW with a clear 4K image at 30 fps,

  14. For me, one of the feature I need is that the images are of high quality, so that said, the 422 W model seems to offer this, so this is the one I would pick. .

  15. I like the Auto on/off feature that will turn on the camera when you start the car and off when you stop it. So the 122.

  16. I think the capability of saving a specific recording is very important on the 633W, but the features of the other models are impressive too.

  17. I like the night vision feature ….this is Canada and we have a lot of long nights here in the north…as well as Bluetooth, and Alexa would be cool as well

  18. I like the Alexa built-in, giving you voice-activated control of music and compatible devices of the 422GW.

  19. I like the night vision mode and the loop recording and the G force option. I like any of the Nextbase dashcams

  20. The 633GW seems to have everything a person would need including footage doesn’t get recorded over.

  21. The 622GW would be best. A touchscreen to quickly review or show someone the recorded footage is very useful.

  22. Definitely the 522GW; it has all the features my husband would love, especially it’s touchscreen and uses Alexa. What I like about it is the SOS feature. My husband is on the road a lot, so this would make me feel more at ease.

  23. High definition, especially the antiglare feature, are the attributes most needed in the dash cam and sound great on the new 622 GW. Still, the 522GW is probably the one I would buy at this time

  24. I agree, the 633GW because it does not get footage recorded over if in an accident, which is the whole point of these devices.

  25. Definitely the 633GW because it does not get footage recorded over if in an accident – that is the whole point of these devices…

  26. 622gw for sure 4K, Alexa, imagine stabilization all in one!! I have had others in the past and either not clear or not stabilized and it’s almost pointless.

  27. The high-definition recording, and night-visions mode, are essential for me. Getting a clear view of what happened, plus the license-plate numbers involved, would be very helpful.
