The art of the selfie isn’t something new, despite what you might think. The French photographer Louis Daguerre, inventor of the first publicly announced photography process, sat for more than one of his “daguerreotypes”, making them the very first selfies.   Nowadays you don’t need to polish sheets of copper or treat them with mercury vapour, you just need to point your camera or your smartphone at yourself. It’s a great way to include yourself in your memories as you share them with others, so here are five tips for better selfies!

The Internet of Things has been covered in-depth on a few fronts. Tom gave you an overview of the IoT with this article, talking about how the internet is finding its way into televisions. We’ve seen other articles on how IoT is affecting our interaction with computers and wearables. There’s a category that has seen huge changes over the last decade as the internet becomes more integrated: gaming and toys. Review: Sony MDR-AS600BT Bluetooth Wireless Sports Headset

I walk about an hour a day to the SkyTrain and home, rain or shine. It’s a great time to listen to new music on Spotify or call friends and family; I’ve spend the past few years flipping between headphones from Bose, Monster, and my Apple EarPods. The one thing that most of them have had in common is that they have a cable running from the earphones to my phone. That cable gets snagged, pulls and will either rip out of the audio jack or pull my phone out of my pocket on a bad day. For the last week I’ve been using the Sony Bluetooth® Wireless Sports Headset on my walk. Have they solved the cable problem and are they worth buying? Read on to find out!

Philips Hue Go review

When Philips Hue launched I was fascinated and excited by it: a light bulb that connects to my wireless network that could be controlled by my iPhone … and change to any colour! Very cool. Hue has done well, and the line has diversified, growing to encompass other smartphone platforms and different bulb types. With Hue Go, Philips is launching a different type of product: a light that stands alone or connects with your network … but that you can take with you. I had the chance to use it for a week. Here’s what that was like.
