As a dinner party host, you want your evening to be fun and memorable – so why not make your next party a night your guests won’t forget by adding a fun cocktail to the menu?
When choosing a party cocktail recipe it’s important to choose one that is relatively simple and quick to make, as you want something that won’t keep your guests waiting forever for their drinks and won’t result in you spending your whole night behind the bar! I also like the idea of using a variation on a classic cocktail as the basis of the recipe because people recognize it and know if they like it or not.
Here are two easy but delicious cocktail recipes to serve at your next party:
Pear Vodka Martini
Pictured above. The Martini is probably the most recognizable cocktail in the world, making it a no-brainer option for any party! There are tons of variations on the classic martini but I love this recipe from Straight to the Hips, Baby because it has very few ingredients and is quick and easy to make.
Don’t have martini glasses? I love the Luminarc Bola Cocktail Glasses. They have a unique but simple design and are dishwasher safe to ensure easy cleanup.
Ingredients: 4 parts pear vodka 3 parts pear nectar 2 parts simple (sugar) syrup 1 part fresh lemon juice Ice |
Directions
Fill a cocktail shaker half way full with ice and place your martini glas
s in the freezer for a quick chill.
Combine all of the ingredients into the shaker and shake vigorously to combine, about 30 seconds.
Pour into your already chilled glass.
Pomegranate Margarita
I love margaritas at a party because they go great with so many party themes, such as a Mexican fiesta or a summer barbeque or soiree, and because you can double or triple the recipe before putting it in the blender to make multiple drinks simultaneously to save time. Short on glasses? Margaritas always look great in a short, sturdy cocktail glass like the Brilliant Bubble Old Fashion Glass (set of 4).
I took this recipe from Coastal Living
Ingredients: Lime juice Margarita salt 1/2 cup powdered sugar 1/2 cup pomegranate juice 4 ounces (1/2 cup) tequila 4 ounces (1/2 cup) orange liqueur 4 tablespoons fresh lime juice 6 cups ice |
Directions
Dip rims of glasses into lime juice and then into salt. Set aside.
Combine sugar and remaining ingredients in a blender. Process until smooth. If you’re looking to upgrade your blender,
I would recommend a high powered blender like the Blendtec Designer Series 1L Blender. It is a great choice as the high-quality components
allow you to easily and consistently cutting through ice and other tough ingredients.
Pour into prepared glasses and serve.
If you make a lot of margaritas, you may want to think about investing in a modified blender like the Margaritaville Frozen Drink Maker. You simply put ice in one side and the ingredients in the other to make great tasting margaritas every time!
A unique cocktail is a great addition to any dinner party. Both the Pomegranate Margarita and the Pear Vodka Martini are simple, easy to make variations on classic cocktails that are guaranteed to satisfy your guests and take your party up a notch!
