Setting up the nursery before you bring your baby home is one of the best part’s of waiting for your new baby to arrive. You get to imagine what he or she would like in a room, dream how they’ll spend time there, and create your baby’s own space in your home. It’s really the first step to welcoming your newborn into your family, so the nursery should be special.
How do you set up a nursery? It depends on your personal sense of style. Are you going to go with a theme? Maybe you like a more modern looking room with baby touches, or you love the traditional pink and blue.
How you decorate your nursery is entirely up to you, but there are a few nursery must haves you may want to incorporate. These baby items will make your nursery functional and comfortable.
Glider and Ottoman
Out of everything I put in my nursery, the glider and ottoman were my favourite additions. I spent many hours feeding, holding, and rocking my baby in my glider, and I really appreciated having an ottoman to raise my feet when we were rocking in the middle of the night.
The Stork Craft Hoop Custom Padded Arm Cushion Glider and Ottoman is a comfortable glider with smooth, quiet gliding motion and a cozy seat to welcome in you and your baby. It even has a side pocket to hold your diaper cream or soothers.
There’s a style of Stork Craft glider to suit any nursery. I love the Chevron pattern, or you can choose slate grey.
Change table
I had a change table in my baby’s nursery, but I also used the floor when I was downstairs. If I had to pick where it was easier to change my baby, I’d go with the change table hands down. It had an easy-to-access diaper and baby clothes holder, and it made changing diapers a speedy process.
If you need a change table, the Stork Craft Carrara is a must choose for any nursery. It’s made of solid wood, has a beautiful sleigh design, and has two cubbyholes and two drawers. Imagine all of the diapers, lotions, and other baby necessities you could store in the cubbies, and there’s an easy clean vinyl change pad included.
Play yard
My babies always had a pretty full closet. I’d store clothes they were wearing and clothes they would be wearing in a few months, and even stack some puzzles and toys they’d grow into. But with all that stuff, I also made room for a play yard in the nursery closet, because you just never know when you’ll need one.
The COSCO Funsport Play Yard is one you’ll want to have in your nursery. It’s lightweight so you can travel with it or just haul it up and down stairs, and it has a padded floor so it’s a comfortable spot for baby to sleep or play. There’s even 2 wheels you can use to roll it wherever you need to
Convertible Crib and Changer
Baby gear really changes from the time you have one baby to another, and after I saw this Graco Remi 4-in-1 Convertible Crib and Changer I was wishing they had this when I had my first baby.
It’s a convertible bed with a 3-position mattress so you can lower it as your baby gets older, and I love how it can convert from a crib to a toddler bed, day bed, and then full size bed. There are drawers for storage and a changing station with vinyl pad so you can just pull your baby out and change him or her right there.
These are just a few nursery must haves that should make every new parent’s list, and if you’d like to see more great baby buys take a look at the Best Buy’s Baby Event. It has all of your favourite brands and it’s going on now.
