Skylanders-HotStreak.jpg20 Different Vehicles to Collect

Every year, Activision gives us something brand new to experience in the latest Skylanders, whether its giant toys, swappable figures, or traps in last year’s edition. Now in Skylanders SuperChargers you’ll be able to ride in 20 different vehicles, ranging from fast cars, to submarines and air ships. Each vehicle type can be used in specific areas, much like gated elemental zones found in previous games. Inside these special areas you’ll have a chance to get into the driver’s seat and experience high-octane gameplay mixed with combat over land, sea, and sky.

Where to Begin? The Starter Pack!

Just like with previous Skylanders video game, your first step to get into the action is to pick up the Starter Pack. In the Skylanders SuperChargers Starter Pack you’ll get the video game, a new Portal of Power, a land-based vehicle called Hot Streak, and two new SuperCharger Skylander characters: a fire-elemental named Spitfire, and a redesigned version of the life-elemental Stealth Elf named Super Shot Stealth Elf.

Take a look at these new characters and vehicle in action!

Skylanders SuperChargers comes with a redesigned Portal of Power, the device used to transport your toys into the game, which is larger and more spacious than ever before. This extra space is needed to, as the new SuperCharger vehicles can be quite a bit wider than the Skylanders characters we’ve seen before. The entire Skylanders roster, consisting of over 300 characters, are all compatible with the new Portal of Power―so if you’ve bought past games, you can bring these characters into the new game! This year’s Portal of Power also features a slot for Traps, though it won’t be used to capture your enemies. Instead, inserting a Trap into the slot with grant your Skylanders special ammo and other perks.

So why exactly is this game called SuperChargers? Well, there are 20 new Skylanders characters being introduced this fall, and each of them have a signature vehicle to match their look and personalities. When paired together, the duo “SuperCharge”, causing the vehicle to radiate energy and gives you boosts like more damage and other perks. One such combination is given in the Starter Pack―the land vehicle Hot Streak and its rider Spitfire―shown together in the trailer above.

Mod your Ride

Not only can you ride in your vehicles, but you can also customize them in-game too! Upgrade your vehicles’ tires and engines, add extra defensive protection, or tweak the suspension to your liking―the choice is yours. You’ll also get special parts for completing certain vehicle levels, and there are also hidden modifications to be found, so keep your eyes peeled!

As if all these new features aren’t exciting enough, the vehicle toys themselves contain movable parts (like the wheels) so you can play with them just like you would with a Hot Wheels!

I’ll be on the lookout for Skylanders SuperChargers when I’m at E3. Stay tuned for more information soon.
