Fall is just around the corner, which means the beginning of the gaming bonanza where publishers roll out their most anticipated AAA video games of the year is almost here. To help keep you in the loop on what the hottest games will be, I’ve put together a list of the hottest video games this fall.

Saints Row
Release Date: August 23, 2022
Platform(s): PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC
Genre: Action-adventure
Modes: Single-player, multiplayer
Saints Row, the iconic franchise, is getting a reboot that shifts away from the wacky tone of the later games. Instead, the focus is on a balance between comedy and seriousness that earlier games in the franchise had. Saints Row takes place in Santo Ileso, a vibrant fictional city in the heart of the American Southwest. In the series’ biggest playground ever, you either have the power, or you just have to take it. As the future Boss, with Neenah, Kevin, and Eli by your side, you’ll form The Saints.
The unique sprawling world of Santo Ileso is the backdrop for a wild, larger-than-life sandbox of thrilling side hustles, criminal ventures and blockbuster missions, as you shoot, drive, and wingsuit your way to the top. Saints Row features some of the series most advanced customization tools that allow you to make your character, car and crew your own.
Gotham Knights
Release Date: October 21, 2022

Genre: Action role-playing
Modes: Single-player, multiplayer
Gotham Knights is an open-world action RPG in development by Warner Bros. Games Montreal. This highly anticipated game features the Batman Family as you step into the roles of Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin. A new expansive, criminal underworld has swept the streets of Gotham City.
And, this new guard of trained DC Super Heroes must rise up as the protectors of Gotham City in the wake of Batman’s death. From solving mysteries that connect the darkest chapters in the city’s history to defeating notorious villains in epic confrontations, you’ll confront an array of challenges as you evolve into your own version of the Dark Knight.
Splatoon 3
Release Date: September 9, 2022
Platform(s): Nintendo Switch
Genre: Third-person shooter
Modes: Single-player, multiplayer
The ink-splatting, multiplayer action game Splatoon 3 launches on the Nintendo Switch family of systems this fall. As expected, Splatoon 3 features an intense competition where you claim turf with splashes of colour and splat your rivals as ink-spraying Inkling and Octoling characters. Splatoon 3 introduces new features and modes making their debut for the first time in the series, while overhauling fan-favourite modes in distinct ways.
Splatoon 3 has three main modes: an all-new single-player Story Mode, “Return of the Mammalians”; the iconic four-on-four team battles, Turf War, featuring new weapons and new and returning stages; and the revamped Salmon Run, a co-op mode in which a team of four fends off waves of enemies, which now adds giant, dangerous bosses to the mix.
Fun for the whole family, Splatoon splats its way to Nintendo Switch on September 9, 2022.
Bayonetta 3

The wait is finally over! Bayonetta returns to the Nintendo Switch family of systems for hair-raising action in larger-than-life battles in Bayonetta 3. In this third installment of the Bayonetta series, the Umbra Witch must join forces with some familiar faces, the mysterious Viola and a multitude of other Bayonettas to stop human-made Homunculi from wreaking havoc.
In the game, you’ll make use of Bayonetta’s wicked weapons and powerful new Demon Masquerade ability to blast, stomp and slam enemies with exciting over-the-top combos and demonic powers. Bayonetta 3 launches October 28, 2022!
Call of Duty Modern WarFare II
Release Date: October 28, 2022
Platform(s): PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S,PS4, Xbox One and PC
Genre: First-person shooter
Modes: Single player, multiplayer
Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is set to kick off a new era for the Call of Duty franchise with the most ambitious and innovative Call of Duty to date. Modern Warfare II’s campaign will have you fighting as a member of the iconic and legendary squad Task Force 141. The game features familiar heroes including Captain Price, Ghost, Soap, Gaz and Laswell.
As well, you will encounter a host of lethal new allies like Mexican Special Forces, Colonel Alejandro Vargas and adversaries from the murkiest corners of the global war on terror. You’ll be able to play the campaign solo by yourself or with a team for immersive multiplayer combat. There is also an evolved Special Ops game mode. It features a tactical co-op mode that promotes team-building skills, and also sets the scene for the near-endless hours of gameplay available in multiplayer.

God of War Ragnarok
Release Date: November 9, 2022

Modes: Single player
God of War Ragnarok takes place a few years after the events of God War. The freezing winds of Fimbulwinter have come to Midgard, making survival for Kratos, Atreus, and Mimir in the Norse wilds almost impossible. Like most young people, Atreus is desperately curious to understand who he is and who he could be.
The mystery of Loki’s role in the upcoming conflict is something that Atreus can’t let go of. He wants to keep his family safe, but also doesn’t want to stand by and do nothing. Kratos, still bearing the knowledge of his past mistakes, wants to spare Atreus the bloody lessons he learned from his conflict with gods.
Together, Kratos and Atreus have to make a choice about which path they will take. Regardless what they choose, it will define the fate of all those living in the Nine Realms as Ragnarok approaches.
Pokémon Scarlet / Violet
Release Date: November 18, 2022

Genre: Adventure, RPG
Modes: Single player, multiplayer
The newest additions in the Pokémon series, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are headed to the Nintendo Switch family of systems on November 18, 2022. As a Pokémon trainer, you’ll explore the wide-open world of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, which is filled with towns and cities with no borders, at your own pace.
In addition, you’ll be able to enjoy all of the iconic adventures of the Pokémon series, like battling against wild Pokémon and trying to catch them! Choose either Sprigatito, the Grass Cat Pokémon, Fuecoco, the Fire Croc Pokémon, or Quaxly, the Duckling Pokémon to be your first partner Pokémon before setting off on your journey through this new region.
Pokémon can be discovered all over the region—in the skies, in the seas, in the forests, on the streets, and more! Your outfit will vary depending on whether you play Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet.
