Premium TVs begin with outstanding new technology

I get this question quite frequently on the blog and on social media, “I want to buy a new TV; can you tell me which TV should I get?” My answer is to figure out your budget and space considerations for the room where it will be placed, then get the most future friendly TV with the largest screen that will fit in your home that you can afford. Future friendly means best technology available. And this year is a banner year for new technology in televisions.

I am planning on getting a new set for my home one day. I have a budget in mind and a TV size in mind (65 inch). I haven’t decided which brand to purchase yet because they are all so tempting! Each of the top manufactures has released new televisions with outstanding new technologies that make the colours more vibrant, details clearer, and the overall entertainment experience much better.

Do your research and plan for your next TV

Buying a television does require doing a bit of research. This contest will help you do that so you will know which future friendly Premium TV will be right for your home. There are three television prizes, one from each of the major TV manufacturers, Samsung, Sony, and LG, as shown here.

  19. For the LG line, my favorite technology component is the α7 Gen3 AI Processor 4K, and my preferred model is the LG Nano90.

  20. For the new LG TVs I am really looking forward to the AI Picture Pro and AI Sound Pro to ensure that the picture and sound are always optimized to the current environment and content.

    My favourite LG TV at Best Buy is the LG NanoCell 65″ 8K UHD HDR LED webOS Smart TV (65NANO99UNA), mainly because it is 8K for the best picture.

  21. For Sony, my favorite technology is the Android TV capability (though I know that’s not specific to just that model). Preferred model = the Sony X950H 4K HDR LED TV.

  27. For the new Sony TVs, I am looking forward to hearing the new Sony Acoustic Surface Audio so the sound comes from all across the TV, not just a small “tinny” speaker. As well as the dual subwoofers integrated into the back of the TV, for more dynamic, bass-heavy sound, specifically for the action movies.

  31. My favourite feature of the LG Premium TVs is the NanoCell Technology. I would really like to see this, especially after reading your description that this technology “creates better colour practically at a molecular level”. It sounds very intriguing that nanoparticles filter out dull colours to enhance the purity of the colour spectrum — even at wide-viewing angles. I’ve seen so many strange colourations on some earlier big-screen tvs, which has turned me off the big screen. But it sounds like so many incredible advancements have been made lately, so I will definitely go and check this out. I am really curious to see these tvs, since the blog says these tvs have the “brightest, sharpest and most vibrantly real TV you can get”. I like a lot of the Samsung Premium TVs, but I guess one that really stands out is the Samsung 65″ 4K UHD HDR QLED Tizen Smart TV (QN65Q70TAFXZC) in Black.

  46. I am very impressed with Samsung’s Ambient Mode. Who want’s a big black rectangle suffocating your room however big or small it is? Not me. The Ambient Mode feature turns your TV into a piece of art, blending into the décor or acts as a display for photos or other information when your TV is not actively in use.
