Earlier this month we gave away some of the top laptops of the year. Now we are giving away two of the top televisions. Learn about the new Samsung TVs, then enter for a chance to win.

Why you should be looking at Samsung TVs in 2023

Have you looked at the range of TVs on display at a Best Buy store these days? I have. Impressive. Almost all of them are LED TVs, though there are a range of types of LED TVs. In the store your eyes will first be drawn to the stunning Samsung Frame TVs. We gave one of these away earlier this year on the blog. Then you’ll look at some of the other types of LEDs and, if you are like most people, you’ll be confused by the terms: OLED, QLED, and Neo QLED. All three are great. All three do some things better than other things. For example, OLEDs have the best blacks thanks to individual self-lighting pixels. QLED has the best brightness (great for bright rooms) thanks to the backlighting. Neo QLEDs are the best combination thanks to their arrays of mini-LED backlighting. Samsung QLED and Neo QLEDs have other advantages too including lower costs.

Why do you want a new TV this fall

Each year, the fall season seems to usher in not just pumpkin spice lattes and sweater weather, but also a surge in people bringing home new TV sets. Here are the top two reasons why:

1. New models and clearance sales

Television manufacturers often release new models in the spring and summer so by fall, these new releases have had time to be reviewed so you know which ones to buy. This not only help you make more informed decisions but also puts pressure on retailers to clear out older inventory to make room for the next generation of models. So whether you are looking for the best new TVs or last year’s models at significant savings, this is the best time of year.

2. Ready for holiday entertainment and sports events

The fall season is a precursor to major holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve, all of which are synonymous with family gatherings and home entertainment. People anticipate needing a better or bigger TV to host movie marathons, special broadcasts, and, of course, holiday specials. Additionally, fall is a significant season for sports with the NFL, NBA, and NHL seasons bringing excitement into our homes. The lure of watching big games and key matchups on a shiny new screen can be hard to resist.

Fall is a perfect storm of incentives; it’s the season not just for falling leaves but also for finding the perfect new TV for your home on television sets. And it’s the perfect time for us to have a contest giving two of the newest and best TVs away.

How to enter

Entering this contest is easy and you can in three different ways (once per method):

  3. In a comment beneath Shelly’s review of the QN90C, tell us how many hours of TV get watched in your home, and one thing that you learned about this television from Shelly’s review.

What you can win

At the end of this contest, we will randomly draw two winners. One will receive the Samsung QN90C TV that Shelly reviewed and the other will receive the Samsung Q70C TV that Shelly reviewed.

This contest runs from Sept 15th to Oct 1st.

  10. I would like a new tv, because there is always better sound to it due to better amplifiers as well as better resolution. If I get bored of the sound on the tv, I can always get some newer speakers but technology changes so fast, I don’t need surround, just some time to start watching more of Wilderness and The Irrational.   14. We are moving across the country – from Toronto to Victoria – on October 1. We decided not to bring our old tv, which has a blue tint that can’t be fixed. We love watching tv and will absolutely need a new tv in Victoria! Our current tv is pretty small — 32″ — and I would love a larger tv for our new place. Maybe a 55″ tv. I am looking forward to watching the latest season of Ted Lasso and also the final season of Succession!

  25. Honestly I got a used tv a year ago (january 2022) and things were going pretty well and when January of this year rolled by I thought to myself and telling my family “wow the TV has dome pretty well for the year”

    Then like a week after saying that it turned out i jinxed it.

  32. My TV is 32″ and the one I used throughout college, it has a 2″ wide line down one side where you can’t see the picture, that is why I’d really like a new TV. I am looking forward to watching “The Last of Us” and season 4 of “Jack Ryan” this fall as I’ve had a busy summer with no time to watch.

  33. I would love a new TV this fall because while playing their VR, my kids smashed our TV off it’s stand and it doesn’t work anymore. Also, because money is tight right now and we can’t spend the money to replace it. The two shows I am looking forward to watching this fall are Dexter (for the second time) and The Walking Dead.

  34. We’d love to have a new TV! We currently have a Samsung that is almost 10 years old. Obviously the technology has come a long way in that time! We’d love to be able to use more apps and have more “smart” options. Plus a bigger TV would be a bonus! Samsung is honestly the way to go for tvs.

  37. Our current television is getting quite old and will need replacing soon. Also, it has a smaller screen so I would really enjoy having a larger screen to watch. I am anxious to watch the next episodes of Yellowstone and I really enjoy the show Blue Bloods.

  38. I would love a new tv because I take care of my elderly disabled parents and due to their health issues we spend most of our time watching Television. The other reason being our current tv is 14 years old and only s 47 inch and their eyesight and my own arnt what they used to be so winning something 65 inches or bigger would help alot! 2 shows im looking forward to are the Frasier reboot and and Upgrade season 2 🙂

  39. We would love to have a new TV because:

    1) Our current TV is quite old now being at about 10 years old with a max resolution of 1080P.
    2) Our current TV’s apps are very slow to run and the manufacturer has stopped putting out updates for the TV’s firmware.

    The new shows that we are looking forward to watching this fall are: The Irrationals and The Continental: From the World of John Wick.

  48. Hi…I am a low income widow whos 10 r old tv has lines running across the screen. Its horrible not to be able to see whats on the screen..no chance of enjoying even the news. Ive shopped at Best Buy for 9 years and trust their service ethics. I am praying I win!!!

  49. I’d love a new TV this fall for immersive watching of movies and sports – particularly the Rugby World Cup! The 2 shows I’m most keen to watch if I win this contest are The Diplomat (with my wife) and Altered Carbon (solo).

  50. I would like a new TV this fall because 1. the one I have now has way too much glare and you can’t see much on it during daylight hours and 2. it’s not a smart TV
    The 2 shows coming out this fall I would love to watch on a new TV are Slow Horses and For All Mankind
