big hero 6.jpgFilm synopsis

14 year old Hiro (Ryan Potter) is a brilliant teenager who only wants to use his talent in robot fighting, until his brother, Tadashi (Daniel Henney) convinces him to join him at a “nerd school”. After a devastating event, Hiro takes on Tadashi’s project, Baymax (Scott Adsit), a health-caring robot and makes a few tweaks in order to fight the villain behind the devastating event along with his friends.

My thoughts on the film

Big Hero 6, adapted from the Marvel Comics, is brought to life by the wonderful people at Disney. Big Hero 6 comic fanatics might not thoroughly enjoy the changes Disney made, but for the most part, Big Hero 6 will certainly become another Disney favourite for all of us.

From the team that brought us hits Wreck-It Ralph and Frozen, Big Hero 6 gives us everything we hoped for and more. The quality of the animation will always be there when it comes to Disney. However, I felt that Hiro’s brother, Tadashi, was a bit bland looking, almost like they cheaped out on him—but that’s just me. The storyline was well done, but the flow was rather off; it starts off at a good pace and then everything just wraps up in the last thirty minutes. Big Hero 6 only runs for one hour and thirty-three minutes, and I suspect the flow of the storyline would’ve been smoother if it was a bit longer, but I’m really nit picking here. All the characters are extremely loveable, especially Baymax the robot. You already know how hilarious Baymax is from the trailers, but boy, was he great for the entire film. I wish this film came out a month ago because I would most certainly dress up as Baymax for Halloween.

FYI – Make sure to be in your seats on time because the Disney short is fantastic as always and if you really want to stay after the credits, you will be treated with a great clip dealing with a Marvel legend.

Rating 4.5/5

Big Hero 6 is another hit for Disney. With its comedic and loveable approach, Big Hero 6 will certainly hit home for everyone. Look for Big Hero 6 toys to be a popular gift this Christmas.

Big Hero 6 is now in theatres.
