headphones for childrenThe popularity of kids’ headphones has soared in recent years! Children use headphones for many of the same activities as adults, including for learning. Some learn through practice, some learn by looking at pictures, and others learn by listening. This is especially true since the pandemic began: young listeners need good headphones for remote schooling, video chats with relatives, and for enjoying music and Netflix shows. In this contest, Best Buy is giving away KIDdesigns over-ear noise cancelling kids headphones and Belkin SoundForm Mini on-ear Bluetooth kids headphones.

Headphones help kids focus and pay attention

With their curious minds and endless energy, kids can easily get distracted by the environment they’re learning in. Headphones help block out the external noise and make kids focus only on the sounds coming out of the headphones. My six-year-old niece uses headphones during reading time in the class. It helps her listen to an audio book (with accompanying images or video) that her teacher prepared. Thus, helping her focus on the story as it’s being told.

Headphones, therefore, also improve the absorption of learning material—enhancing the focus of a child to help them remember that material. Later during tests, a pair of good kids’ headphones can once again help the child to recall the information they need to perform well by reducing external distracting noises.

Bring out their inner superstar with character graphics headphones

Most kids’ headphones are designed to be small, lightweight, and feature an onboard volume limiter to prevent young listeners from damaging their hearing. The headphones we are offering in this contest all have those features. Their control system is simple and easy to use, with essential controls like play/pause and volume control. The volume limiting feature allows you to adjust the volume for safe levels of listening and works with any audio device. Adjustable headbands and padded ear cushions allow your kids to listen in comfort. Lastly, one very important feature of kids’ headphones is that they are budget friendly: after all, a child might be taking them to school or daycare or to a friend’s house and invariably they may get misplaced, dropped, or damaged in transit.

We sent the Belkin and KIDdesigns headphones to our blogger, Shelly, to test and share honest feedback. Check out her review article to learn more about these headphones.

The KIDdesigns over-year noise cancelling headphones that we’re giving away in this contest come in several bright and fun colour schemes and feature favourite characters to appeal to children.

  1. helps kids listen to an audio book, so they can learn to read on their own time if parents are too busy at that moment

  2. The most important feature is the volume limiter because it will protect the kids from damaging their hearing.

  3. The volume limiter is an important feature because I don’t want my child to listen to anything at a high decibel.

  4. Headphones help kids focus and pay attention- esp important as I have a nephew that is easily distracted from those around him. He has self-identified this trait which is half the battle.

  5. I believe that the most important feature on kids headphones is having the ability to adjust the volume with the volume limiter so a child’s hearing is protected at all times no matter what audio device is being used.
