Not too long ago, family movie night meant a trip to a movie rental store and watching standard definition content. Upscaling up to 60p, HDR10, and Dolby Vision both lend a hand to deliver electric colours and deeper darks. Similarly, the high resolution audio delivers an immersive experience that lets music be heard the way it was intended. The UBP-X700 is easily paired with a sound bar or receiver so you can take full advantage of its audio capabilities.

  4. I would be most excited to experience the latest 4K movies on the Sony UBP-X700, but it’s great that it is also able to play the older DVD and Blu-Rays that are in my collection.

  6. I love that this unit supports older technology – awesome to watch old DVD’s and listen to CDs again – so wasteful to throw this stuff out/have it become obsolete over time and nice to see a product that allows it to be used again!

  21. I would love to be able to rewatch all my old Blu-ray, some are 4k combo packs but I haven’t been able to watch them because I have a old Sony Blu-ray player (non 4k) that won’t open. Plus it doesn’t support some audio formats.
