In the last decade we have become a streaming society. Roku has been a huge part of the transition by enabling us to connect a small device to any television to instantly make it capable of showing anything we want to see. Their selection of channels was unmatched by any other streaming service. They added to this experience a few years ago when they improved the onscreen interface and added their own Roku channel. Suddenly you could find old favourites and new favourites quickly in one location.

It makes sense then that the newest iteration of Roku would introduce the ability for us to stream amazing audio too. In fact, when I hooked it up to try it out in my home, the first thing I streamed was Spotify, thinking, “Let’s hear how Eddie sounds on this speaker!” I have to say, Van Halen sounded pretty amazing!

  3. The fact that the Roku can lower the volume of commercials is gold to me. It would save me from diving for the remote mute button to silence what are largely really ANNOYING commercials. How many seniors insurance ads can one person take during day time television! Those ads along will kill me. Maybe that’s why there are selling insurance!

  15. I really like that The Roku bar can quiet loud commercials automatically using the Automatic Volume Leveling setting. This is a neat feature that I would use.

  16. I love that it has the “Four 1.9” full-range speakers”. I have such a hard time hearing or understanding what they are saying on TV. It is not a hearing problem, so I expect it is the sound coming from my TV, big screen 43″. These four speakers will bounce off the wall I expect and I will hear so much better, not the muffled sound I often get now. I keep saying to my husband, “what did he say”??? LOL Also the easy setup as it describes above!!!

  31. The option to quiet loud commercials is awesome. You just know they crank the volume when they begin. I’ve always wanted a device that can normalize the volume.
