Sony has been a leader in home and personal audio for decades. I’ve been listening on Sony products for most of my life (I even owned a bright yellow Sony Sport Walkman years ago). My taste in music has changed (slightly) but Sony quality has not. However, the range of Sony audio products is huge; you may have trouble deciding which one to get for your home next!. Well, since September is Home Theatre Month at Best Buy, we think it’s a great time to give Canadians a chance to win some of the fantastic Sony audio products that may be on their wish-lists. We have two contests offering Sony Audio prizes in progress this month. In this contest, I have one combination prize of a Sony receiver and turntable. See below for the link to our other contests at Best Buy.
Which audio component is next on your wish-list
In life we all have to make choices. Some choices are harder than others. For example, you may have a hard time deciding which of the recent viral shark songs you like best: Baby Shark or Reggae Shark (I’m leaning toward Baby Shark myself; I can’t help but smile when I watch it!).
Think for a second about your home audio system and the components that it’s lacking. Which new audio component is first on your list? You may have a stack of records that you can’t play, so a turntable may be next. Alternatively, you may realize that a turntable will be useless without a great receiver and amplifier to carry the signal from the turntable to your speakers. Just like trying to decide which of the above videos you like best, it’s a dilemma!
Which Sony audio component do you need in your home
In his review of this receiver and turntable, Brad Moon discusses that someone just getting into vinyl or wanting to get an entry level player for his old LPs would be well served by the Sony PS-LX300USB turntable. It’s easy to setup and use, and has the added benefit of USB connectivity so you can connect it to a PC and convert your vinyl recordings to MP3. He also pointed out that pairing this turntable with Sony’s STR-DH190 receiver is a solid choice. This receiver comes with Bluetooth support so you can stream music from your phone through the receiver.
Now, if you had to choose, which one would you prefer to get first for your home: the turntable or the receiver. One lucky person will not have to worry—the person who wins this contest will get both!
HOW TO ENTER
Entering this contest is easy, but you can only enter once. In a comment below this article, tell us which you would prefer for your home: the Sony turntable or the Sony receiver and why. If you want, you can also weigh in on the other tough choice discussed above: Reggae Shark or Baby Shark.
WHAT YOU CAN WIN
At the end of the contest we will select one winner to receive both Sony audio components: the Sony PS-LX300USB turntable and the Sony STR-DH190 receiver.
This contest will run from Sept 12th until Sept 25th.
Remember you can only enter once. However, you can tell your friends and family about this awesome contest. You could even strike a deal saying, “let’s split the prize and whoever wins gets first choice.” At the very least you can introduce them to those two shark videos above!

Since vinyl is making a come back & I don’t have one I will have to say the turntable.
I like the ease of setting up the turntable and receiver.
The receiver is for me!
My famiy used to have a Sony turntable, long ago, and it has disappeared. I would like the turntable even if just for the memories.
I have been collecting vinyl for a few years and recently my giant, old record player died! The Sony LX300USB turntable would be exactly what I need. I love the fact that with the Sony LX300USB turntable I could convert my vinyl to mp3. I wold love to continue enjoying my vinyl and it sounds like the Sony LX300USB turntable would bring my vinyl game to a whole new level! Thanks Best Buy! Oh, and Baby Shark all the way…I love the expressions of the goldfish…too funny 🙂
My husband has collected many vinyl records, a new Sony Turntable would be a lovely gift to him!
I would love the Sony Receiver, it is just what I have been searching for go with the new surround sound system.
I can use the Sony Receiver to complete my new home theater set up!
I would use the Sony Turntable to play my favorite ABBA.
The Sony receiver for sure,
The Sony receiver. I have been looking around for one of these and this would be great for my needs.
Sony receiver because I don’t have any receiver at my home
Definitely the receiver as I don’t have vinyls and I can stream all the music from my phone
I’d go with the receiver for the versatile usage options.
i,d take this for nothing
Space in my house is limited, so as much as I would love the receiver, the turntable would get better use for you. Baby Shark on repeat all day every day!
I would choose the turntable for sure.

Sony receiver because I don’t have any receiver at my home.

Definitely the receiver. I have no records, so the turntable would be useless for me.

wanna spin some platters
I would prefer the Sony turntable so I could play my old LP’s.
I believe that the Sony turntable would be best for me so that I could listen to vinyl records and enjoy the sound.
Would love to win the Sony turntable and receiver for our home. Sony the ultimate in electronics. Thanks for sponsoring this giveaway and for the chance to win.
The receiver, for sure. I need to replace my old one.
I would like to win the Sony Turntable because I don’t have one to play my numerous records I have at home. My ex took his turntable with him 🙁
It would make me very happy to win it! Thank you Best Buy for the chance -this item is so cool!
I would love to have both since my current and 200’ish receiver does not have a phono input, so if I had to make a choice I’ll take the receiver. As an older(relatively speaking ) audiophile I long for the sound of vinyl but after putting three kids through university have not been able to bring myself to spend money on a new receiver. Do the right thing here and award the receiver, or the record player to a deserving aging audiophile.. me 🙂
A Turntable would suit me best, I have a large record collection that I can’t play.
A turntable would be great to play all the LP’s I have. It would be nostalgic to listen to all the original tunes as they were made on vinyl.
The receiver would be great. I would love to pair it with some speakers to add to the new TV I am buying.
My receiver is ancient so I’d love the new receiver.
I would like the turntable for all my lps sitting in the basement collecting dust
I have been shopping around for a receiver. I have to admit, the selection is daunting.
