Sony has been a leader in home and personal audio for decades. I’ve been listening on Sony products for most of my life (I even owned a bright yellow Sony Sport Walkman years ago). My taste in music has changed (slightly) but Sony quality has not. However, the range of Sony audio products is huge; you may have trouble deciding which one to get for your home next!. Well, since September is Home Theatre Month at Best Buy, we think it’s a great time to give Canadians a chance to win some of the fantastic Sony audio products that may be on their wish-lists. We have two contests offering Sony Audio prizes in progress this month. In this contest, I have one combination prize of a Sony receiver and turntable. See below for the link to our other contests at Best Buy.
Which audio component is next on your wish-list
In life we all have to make choices. Some choices are harder than others. For example, you may have a hard time deciding which of the recent viral shark songs you like best: Baby Shark or Reggae Shark (I’m leaning toward Baby Shark myself; I can’t help but smile when I watch it!).
Think for a second about your home audio system and the components that it’s lacking. Which new audio component is first on your list? You may have a stack of records that you can’t play, so a turntable may be next. Alternatively, you may realize that a turntable will be useless without a great receiver and amplifier to carry the signal from the turntable to your speakers. Just like trying to decide which of the above videos you like best, it’s a dilemma!
Which Sony audio component do you need in your home
In his review of this receiver and turntable, Brad Moon discusses that someone just getting into vinyl or wanting to get an entry level player for his old LPs would be well served by the Sony PS-LX300USB turntable. It’s easy to setup and use, and has the added benefit of USB connectivity so you can connect it to a PC and convert your vinyl recordings to MP3. He also pointed out that pairing this turntable with Sony’s STR-DH190 receiver is a solid choice. This receiver comes with Bluetooth support so you can stream music from your phone through the receiver.
Now, if you had to choose, which one would you prefer to get first for your home: the turntable or the receiver. One lucky person will not have to worry—the person who wins this contest will get both!
HOW TO ENTER
Entering this contest is easy, but you can only enter once. In a comment below this article, tell us which you would prefer for your home: the Sony turntable or the Sony receiver and why. If you want, you can also weigh in on the other tough choice discussed above: Reggae Shark or Baby Shark.
WHAT YOU CAN WIN
At the end of the contest we will select one winner to receive both Sony audio components: the Sony PS-LX300USB turntable and the Sony STR-DH190 receiver.
This contest will run from Sept 12th until Sept 25th.
Remember you can only enter once. However, you can tell your friends and family about this awesome contest. You could even strike a deal saying, “let’s split the prize and whoever wins gets first choice.” At the very least you can introduce them to those two shark videos above!

I would love the turntable as we have lots of old records but nothing to play them on!
I WOULD LOVE TO BE ABLE TO PLAY MY GRANDPARENTS OLD 78 RECORDS ON A TURNTABLE.
I would prefer the Sony receiver to improve my home audio system!
I would choose the turntable as I have some old records that I could play

Turntable – I moved provinces, was jobless for 11 months and sold all my gear. I kept my music and would love to have a Turntable to listen to my records. Music is Happiness!
Receiver
These are returning to the present and I have the LPs
turn table would be great for old records
I haven’t had a turntable in years, but would love to have one of the new ones on the market. Such a great way to listen to music!
A new receiver would be greatly appreciated. My old one is now 45 years old!
Unfortunately I lost all my records in a house fire 7yrs ago and never was able to collect again, so I would opt for the Sony receiver. Also it would be awesome to listen to Baby Shark on it.
Iwould like a turntable thanks
a turntable to connect to my pc
The Turntable – I have a stack of old vinyl; I don’t currently have any way of playing them at the moment
i could really use the reciever as my present one is acting up, its from the 80s and has done its duty
Receiver. I don’t own any vinyls
The Receiver cause I have no vinyal records unless you give me some too
The receiver. I don’t own any vinyl.
I would like the turntable because I have records that I cannot play because I don’t have a turntable
The Turntable – I have a stack of old vinyl; I don’t currently have any way of playing them at the moment
It would be great and appreciated to win any prize but especially the Sony turntable. Good luck to all.
love to have a receiver, need to have the walls rattling while watching those movies with home theatre set up
Never owned a turntable and would love to start a vinyl collection
The turntable. I’m a old dog with a stack of vinyl sitting collecting dust. “Minutes to Memories”
I could use a new receiver
The turntable so I could take my old vinyl for a spin
I would prefer the turntable to listen to some of my old records
I’d prefer the turntable because I’ve never owned one.
The Sony Receiver would come in handy
I would like the Sony Receiver please
I need the Sony Receiver please and thank you
I would prefer the turntable as that would give me the excuse to go out and buy some records or dig out my parent’s old ones.
The Sony STR-DH190 receiver please, my old one died a while back and now I am using the aux input of a very old shelf stereo system and I need not to be!
The turntable, as I don’t have one 😀
The one I need the most is the Sony STR-DH190 receiver. I already own a vintage Sony turntable that has a very cool feature as it slides open rather than having a top to open to play the records.
i would like a receiver, i don’t have any records to play on a turntable
Turntable, to connect to my pc
I would love to try out the turntable.
Definitely the turntable. Longing to revisit vinyl and compare fidelity with a decent set of cans.
Is there really any contest between Baby and Reggae shark though? 😀
Sony STR-DH190 receiver I don’t have anything yet so it’d be good start.
I prefer the receiver, though the turntable is also useful.
I would prefer the Sony STR-DH190 receiver, as my current receiver is really old – an upgrade would be nice.
The Sony Receiver would be most welcome in my setup as I need it for all my audio outputs, my TV speakers are not adequate. Although it would have been better for me had it had HDMI inputs
I’ve been looking at upgrading my sound set up so I would love the receiver
I’m going to go with Reggae Shark because if I think of the other one I will get it stuck in my head do do do do
I have no old records at all, so the receiver would be a better choice for me. i could build a home theater system around it.
Turntable. The kids need to experience the only true way to listen to music 🙂
Receiver. We already have a turntable but we could definitely use the receiver.
I could really use the turntable as my parents have a few hundred records and I have nothing to play them on. It would be awesome to be able to turn them into MP3’s to listen to when travelling.
Turntable, I currently do not have a way to play my old awesome records.
