How easy is to use an Osmo Mobile smartphone stabilizer?

The Osmo Mobile smartphone stabilizer series are known for their ease of set up and for providing an inexpensive, easy to use way to shoot professional looking videos with just your smartphone. You know the problem we all have with phone videos: they are jittery, lose focus of the subject, etc. Capturing steady always-on-point videos by holding a phone in your hand is not easy. Mount the phone in an Osmo and suddenly a whole world of videography opens up. The gimble and software can keep the subject in the center of the field of view no matter if your hand is shaking or bouncing around. Imagine you are filming a lightning storm from a moving car on a bumpy road; with your smartphone in an Osmo Mobile the image is perfectly stable. It really does all the work; you just hold it in your hand and decide what to shoot.

I am writing this article before the Osmo Mobile 4 launches, so I don’t know what incredible features it will have. I did send one to reviewers for an in-depth article about it; but, the reviews aren’t ready yet (I’ll add a link here as soon as the review goes live). You, however, are reading this contest article just after the launch. So, the first thing you need to do is to go to the product page that also just went live and read about the features of the new Osmo Mobile 4, then come back here and enter the contest.

  2. The Dynamic Zoom looks pretty neat to add a professional look to the video. I also like the long battery life (15 hours).

  4. Magnetic mount is something new for the category, so like everyone else, I would love to get my hands on that.

    The new app with more modes and improved active track would be nice to test too. So many little things to play with!

The dynamic zoom is certainly one of the most appealing additions to this, I must say that it will add an interesting dynamic when used in junction with the hyperlapse capabilities for some really cool time-lapse effects. Gotta say though, the quick attachment of the magnet system is really the most brilliant addition here. No more accidentally lock button squeezing.

  27. The magnetic mount is the single standout feature that I feel is a game changer. Being able to quickly snap on and off is amazing. I understand the active tracking is better so I am excited for that as well.

  34. Would really love to try that activtrak 3.0 as well as the dynamic zoom!! especially need it for the stabilisation. Iv been looking at DJI for a while as I’m getting ready for the North boundary trail in September needing something to stabilize my phone for all the scenic views in Jasper Banff. Definitely want to have good video not shaky

  39. I’m an avid user of osmo mobile 3 and been following the release articles of OM4 and what features it entails. I’d really like to try the Dynamic zoom ( cause I’m really bad when trying to achieve the dolly zoom effect manually ) and Pano Clone effect ( personally my favorite as I think AI does all the work here making it easy for us to just point and shoot – interesting feature to use during these bored quarantine periods if you ask me )

  45. Dji osmo is my all time favorite gimbal. An item in my wishlist for long long time! The two features I would like to try on my osmo 4 will be the brand new magnetic quick release and the dynamic zoom effect for making some cinematic video effects.
