A smart home needs a great router like the many new routers from TP-Link. They are the central element that keeps all of your smart technology connected to each other, to your apps, and to the internet. Best Buy carries a great selection of powerful routers, including some of the newest Wi-Fi 6 routers, perfect for today’s smart home. Next month is smart home month at Best Buy and to kick off smart home month we are giving away two TP-Link Wi-Fi 6 Mesh 3 Packs for your home.
Secure and convenient smart home tech begins with a great router
Smart lights, smart cameras, smart locks, smart appliances … all require the same thing: a strong, reliable Wi-Fi signal. Your ISP (internet service provider) is doing their best to get the internet to your home, but from there it’s up to you to have the right router for your needs. Router technology has drastically improved with the introduction of Wi-Fi 6; that two year old router you’ve been using might be ready for an upgrade.
Smart home month at Best Buy is our chance to showcase the newest technology that will add convenience, security, and energy savings to your home. On the blog, we’ll have lots of articles to help you find the right technology for your needs. We’ll also have several contests to help you win some great tech. However, with smart home tech, it all begins with a powerful router.
TP-Link routers are made for the connected home
Our homes have become data superhighways sending and redirecting data traffic in a million directions. Our phones, tablets, and computers are connected. Our smart cameras, smart lights, and smart fridges are connected. And on top of all that data traffic, we are streaming music, TV, and movies to our connected televisions and speakers.
We expect all of this data to seemlessly get rounded-up by that often ignored box in the corner—the router—and be sent to the right destination in our homes and outside our homes. Some routers do this better than others and TP-Link Wi-Fi 6 Mesh routers are the newest and most powerful to suit all levels of internet usage.
The prizes we are giving away come with three nodes: place them around your home and they connect to each other to provide up to 7000 square feet of sublime wireless internet coverage. You’ll walk from one end of your home to another, upstairs or down, and have zero interruptions in your Wi-Fi signal. And since these routers have the newest Wi-Fi 6 technology, anything new you add to your home—possibly a new Wi-Fi camera over the garage—will easily connect at the fastest possible speed so you get the most from the tech you buy for your home.
To learn more about this router and the benefits of Wi-Fi 6 and mesh technologies, read the review that Brad Moon did of this router earlier this summer. After reading that come back here to enter this contest … then you can start dreaming about all of the new tech you can add to your home if you win!

My main reason for wanting the router is that we are tapping out on the capacity of our existing router. I’d love to get into some other smart home tech (like a smart sprinkler system so I can turn it off when it’s going to rain, but also some water monitoring/leak detection) but I fear our current setup can’t handle much more.

First and most important on my smart home wishlist would be a Google nest doorbell! I do most of my shopping online and would like to ward off thieves!!!
I would definitely get the Google Nest Hub, to pair it with my smart speakers around the house. Adding to that, i would also get some smart LED Panels with the Philips Hue smart bulbs to really build an incredible LED lighting experience paired with music from speakers along the house. An added bonus would definitely be a smart thermostat to control the temperature in my appartment wherever i am. It would be super handy during the winter.

I am currently looking at wireless security cameras (Nest), a new wireless thermostat and a wireless doorbell (Ring) so I will probably need an updated router!
The TP-Link mesh router would power by Nest smoke detectors, video doorbell, security system, Alexa, Nest thermostat and much more all over the house. Amazing.
Google Nest Hello Wi-Fi Video Doorbell
If I won, I would love to add a full indoor/outdoor Google Nest security system with doorbell.
First outfit home with Google mini speakers then figure out what to get fit my home security cameras. Like a pvr or something.

When I visit my parents, they have a townhome where their internet router is upstairs, in this tiny room. So when I talk to my mom on FaceTime, she is usually downstairs and can’t get a signal. “Poor connection”. Constantly. And then they both actively look at the news etc and I am trying my best to support them. So – I would absolutely love for them to have this TP-Link mesh router along with a Google Nest Hello Wi-Fi Video Doorbell so they can see who comes to their door and don’t have to peer out.
I was lo0king at a wire-free home security system but also a Nest Thermostat would be nice.
I would love to add the Phyn Plus Wi-Fi Smart Water Consumption/Usage Monitor & Leak Detector to be more efficient with my water usage and prevent another big leak I had a year ago. This system would pair well with the TP Link Mesh Home System.
If I won the new TP-Link mesh router I’d add some smart switches and plugs as well as some lighting.
Have my eyes set on the nest thermostat and nest video door bell
Nest thermostat and a video doorbell or maybe cameras.
