new musical instrument

Every January, new musical technologies that we hope to soon see available at Best Buy are announced during the Namm show. This year there are lots of new instruments and other music gear getting announced, and we are covering some of these on the blog. The show is different: like we saw with CES 2021, Namm too has gone virtual. They call this year’s show “Believe in Music” almost as a rally cry. Do you believe in music? I do … and have organized this contest to help more people across Canada embrace their inner musician in 2021. Read on to learn more, then enter for a chance to win one of these great prizes.

Are you ready to have more music in your life?

Musical enjoyment changed last year. Many of us had plans to attend a concert, or at least visit a neighbourhood pub to hear a local band. Those events disappeared overnight, leaving a void for many of us. Online videos, some from our favourite artists, helped a little. However, virtual concerts don’t capture the intimacy of thinking, “that song is getting played just for me.“

I believe music is more than the sum of its parts. It’s not just hands on a guitar or piano, a breath passing through a hollowed tube, or a polished stick hitting a shiny drum. It’s emotion exchanged from one person to another, stirring deep understanding and empathy, sometimes of joy, sometimes of pain. Many of us, including me, feel we are most alive when entranced by a song. I relate to Namm’s “Believe in Music” theme—especially this year. It’s a timely call to action for all of us.

It’s easy to get the right musical instruments

Perhaps you’ve been thinking about bringing a new instrument into your home but wondered “How do I buy an instrument during the current situation?” On the Best Buy Blog, we’ve been working extra hard over the past few months to raise awareness of good quality instruments available at Best Buy that fit every budget. We published detailed review articles of guitars, pianos, amps, and more, complete with videos so you can hear how the instruments sound. Also, it’s easy to order from Best Buy, and they have a customer friendly return policy in case you decide you want a different instrument than the one you initially ordered.

Additionally, we have regularly been holding great musical instrument contests. Vendors like Casio, Epiphone, Roland, Joyo, Singsation, and Jasmine have provided the samples we have sent to bloggers to review. They also asked us to give those samples away to customers when they return from the blogger. At the time this contest began, there was already one in progress for Casio keyboards. So, enter this contest for a chance to win a guitar, or a ukulele, or an amplifier, or a karaoke machine.

How to enter

Entering this contest is easy, but you can only enter once. In a comment below, tell us which instrument available at Best Buy you are most interested in learning more about. We’ll look over all of your comments and hopefully be able to acquire samples of some of the instruments you mention to use in future review articles, and eventually give away in future contests.

What you can win

At the end of this contest, we’ll randomly draw eight (8) winners to receive one of these prizes: two Epiphone acoustic guitars, one Jasmine acoustic guitar, one Joyo 10W acoustic guitar amp (MA-10), one Singsation Classic Karaoke machine, one Singsation Karaoke Party System (SPKA75), and two Mahalo Ukuleles.

This contest runs from January 25th to February 10th.

Remember, you can only enter once in a comment below. However, there are so many prizes here that if you tell all of your friends, perhaps you and someone you know will win and you can start a band!
