I woke up early this morning still reeling from the buzz of arriving in Anaheim California for the 2014 NAMM Show.

From the moment I cleared customs and arrived at my gate at Vancouver’s International Terminal, the excitement was in the air. Pretty well everyone I met in pre-boarding was heading down to the LA-area for the NAMM show or the Grammy’s.

On the plane I met with Garth Richardson and Mike Schroeder of the Nimbus School of Recording Arts in Vancouver.

I also found myself sitting behind singer-songwriter Jody Quine heading down to LA to attend the Grammy’s.

After the plane landed, meeting new folks on their pilgramage to NAMM didn’t end. I got the pleasure of sharing a shuttle from LAX to my hotel in Anaheim with Berit Hagen – better known as The Commander In Chief – a 7-string guitar virtuoso who just arrived from London England. She’s going to be appearing at the Ibanez and Laney Amplification booths on Saturday as part of their respective artist endorsement programs.

Once settled into my hotel, I ventured out for a change of pace at nearby Downtown Disney for some dinner. Even the power of the Mouse was being challenged by a tide of NAMM-bound attendees. Every conversation I overheard, and every person I met seemed to have “NAMM” on their lips.

It’s going to be an exciting and busy time over the next four days.
