Many gamers I know either love their gaming chair or lament not having a really good one. Gaming is not an activity you can just get up from every half hour to stretch and reset. An online campaign can last for hours and leaving your seat may not only let your teammates down, but may lead to a huge setback in the game. Some gamers even forego bathroom breaks to secure a victory.   1. When I play for long hours on end, usually playing World of Warcraft, if there is a loading screen or wait to get somewhere like i’m taking a flight transit system that is automatic, I will go and get some snacks or stretch

  2. Every gamer should take a 45 minute break and try a new yoga pose or do a stretch exercise they have yet to try. This will keep things fun and interesting and motivates the gamer to take the break. Also try a new snack on said break.

  3. Sitting for long periods of time we know can cause a lot of back issues and eye issues. Every 20 mins or so, take an eye break. Look around the room for a minute. Be careful with your posture. Sit straight and try yoga poses during when not gaming.

  4. Every gamer should take a 45 minute break and try a new yoga pose or do a stretch exercise they have yet to try. This will keep things fun and interesting and motivates the gamer to take the break. Also try a new snack on said break.

  5. Every gamer should get up every hour or so and do a quick stretch/walk around. I’m not saying you have to walk for a set period of time, or have to walk around the house or whatever. Just get up, take a few steps to get the blood flowing, and do a couple quick stretches. That and drinking lots of water (try around 12 cups a day, but depending on size/sex/height/weight/etc. 12 is just a ball park figure) really helps for the long gaming sessions.

  6. There are many ways that gamers can better take care of their health during gaming sessions. Set timers to get up and move every 15-30 minutes. Set a timer to get up and go for a walk once or twice during the gaming sessions. Also, mix it up, get out of the same position, do not bend knees to constrict blood flow etc. Lots of little ways to start taking better care of ourselves during our gaming sessions.

  7. Gamers who play long hours can stay healthy by keeping hydrated (drinking lots of water), and taking periodic breaks from their screen.

  8. I have started doing jumping jacks in between matches. I throw in push ups if I lose the match.

  9. Nutrition is obviously important (healthy snacks, water, etc.)

    I’ll say that posture is most important. It’s too easy to be hunched forward because of the mouse/keyboard combo.

  10. Gamers can take breaks to help stay healthy. They can get a under desk pedal equipment to help keep their blood moving and always remember to break and stretch.

  11. I set a timer on my fitbit or cellphone to remind me to take a break. When the alarm goes off I get up and tackle some other project / chore before I go back to gaming. Then I set another timer for the next break in the gaming action.

  12. Gamers who play for long hours need to choose healthy, sensible snacks while gaming. Not junk food!

  13. It is all about ergonomics!! Be sure to fit the chair to your body stature and remember… no slouching:)

  14. Ways to stay healthy are getting up and moving around every so often, stretching, and staying hydrated.
