What does the long weekend mean to you? For some people a long weekend is an extra day to turn the alarm clock off and sleep in. For others, it’s time to turn off the work computer and turn on the home computer. While it’s great to give your brain a breather and stuff yourself with hot dogs, it’s also the perfect time to gear up, get out there, and do things you’ve been waiting all winter to do.

You’ve been waiting all year for it and now it’s finally here, so whether you’re heading out on an airplane, hitting the backwoods for some camping, or getting to know your backyard all over again, here’s the gear you need for the perfect long weekend:

The ideal chair for a long weekend

What is it about Adirondack chairs that just scream long weekend? Maybe it’s because of the pinewood rush you get when you sit down in one that’s been basking in the warm sun. Ultimately it doesn’t matter what it is that makes us love them, it just matters that the Bear Chair Pine Adirondack chair will welcome you with open arms every long weekend for the rest of the summer.

If you’re a ‘glamper’ and not a camper

Some people really like the idea of roughing it in the great outdoors, but even the most hardcore campers will find themselves wishing for a nice, convenient source of power occasionally. That’s where the Goal Zero Nomad 7 Solar Panel will come in handy on each and every long weekend and even for those weekends in between. It’s water resistant, portable, and collects seven watts of power from the sun to charge your devices like smartphones, tablets, and laptops via USB and 12V outlet.

Turn up the long weekend tunes

Remember what it was like to park your key, put the key in your ignition, roll down the windows, and turn up the stereo so you can listen to music with friends? Most newer vehicles aren’t real fans of that old fashioned experience, and if you were halfway across a field or parking lot, you couldn’t really hear the music anyway. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who would rather listen to no music at all then spend the entire long weekend trying to hear tinny, barely audible music from far, far away, so the Altec Lansing Wireless Speaker series seriously comes in handy.

Take the Altec Lansing The Jack Wireless Speaker for example – it connects via Bluetooth so you can listen to your smartphone playlists, can also connect to non-Bluetooth audio sources via the built in jacks, and plays for up to 8 hours without a charge. This is definitely a speaker to give your long weekend music the respect it deserves.

Adventure is out there…

You just have to get on your eBike and go find it. Here are a few things I love about eBikes – they’re faster than a regular bike so I can cruise in the bike lane and pass them like they’re standing still, when I get tired they’ll cruise up the hills for me, and when you have an eBike like the Surface 604 Element, there is literally no terrain you won’t be able to hit. With top speeds of 32kph and 4” wide tire treads, this long weekend is the perfect long weekend to hit the trail on the Surface 604 Element for the first time.  Trust me when I say it won’t be your last time.

There’s nothing like a long weekend to put you in summer mode, so make sure you gear up, get out there, and have some good, old fashioned long weekend fun.
