One of the most personal technologies has to be the ereader, like those offered by Kobo. I realize that some of them can surf the web and view multimedia, but for me, they are made for reading books. They are perfectly designed for that one simple task. They are lightweight, with a display that is easy on the eyes in daylight, or at night, and they easily fit in one hand. Why do I love Kobo eReaders so much

Let me tell you a little story, a true story. Once upon a time I had a Kobo ereader, a gift from my children, and I used it all the time. I read a huge assortment of novels on my cherished Kobo: mysteries, historical fiction, classics, trashy pop fiction, non-fiction and more. My brain was filled with great characters and great stories. I took my Kobo everywhere: on cruises in the Caribbean, on flights to Europe, and even back and forth in my car daily so that at any moment I could take a few minutes’ break, just me and my Kobo.

Then tragedy struck: one evening while rushing to take groceries into the house to make dinner, I forgot my Kobo in the car. Wouldn’t you know it, a thief broke into my car and stole it. I was shattered! End of story. However, I still feel the loss. You never know how much you love something until it’s gone.

  2. Light, compact, easy to store and take with you while travelling for work and leisure. Looking up words and saving passages is a breeze. Customizable features such as adjusting lighting and font type/size is great for carrying conditions.

  3. I have a much older version of the Kobo. I love it! It is great in that I can increase font size when I loose my reading glasses. It holds way more books than I would probably ever own and it is the perfect book sized unit!

  19. The Kobo is easy to have with me,fits in my purse. It is light, and contains so many books .

  23. I like its lightweight design and easy ability read outdoors even in sunlight. The portability of the device is fantastic as it is smaller than a paperback and it also can hold so many books (8GB worth) in several file formats. Another fantastic feature is the long battery life.

  30. I’m an avid reader. Kobo is easier than carrying around multiple hard cover books, and can use multiple formats, ePub and PDF.

  38. I love the Kobo e reader for travel – I can “pack” a lot of books and read them on the plane, in my room, at the airport, etc. Also, I like to read myself to sleep. I can read in bed with the lights off so I don’t keep my husband awake.

However, as I aged, my eyesight made it harder and harder to read – so I sort of gave up reading books. Most print was too small. Then I discovered the E-READER. I have a KOBO E-READER, and I have it sitting near my favorite reading chair. I also take it with when we are travelling. I would love to win this e-reader. I would love to have the updated version and I would donate my E-reader to someone that also has problems reading as I did. I love the light feature, and the ability to increase text size.

  48. I can’t live without my KOBO! I love that I can have a variety of books on hand at all times and it is small and light enough to carry in my purse. On the treadmill, at the beach….it is always with me.

  49. I love the kobo e reader because it is easy on my eyes as opposed to reading on my phone. I love the back lit screen for night time reading. It is easy to use and load books on to. I like to take it to the trailer with a variety of books on it so I am not filling my suitcase with heavy books. It gets me reading more!
