One of the most personal technologies has to be the ereader, like those offered by Kobo. I realize that some of them can surf the web and view multimedia, but for me, they are made for reading books. They are perfectly designed for that one simple task. They are lightweight, with a display that is easy on the eyes in daylight, or at night, and they easily fit in one hand. Why do I love Kobo eReaders so much

Let me tell you a little story, a true story. Once upon a time I had a Kobo ereader, a gift from my children, and I used it all the time. I read a huge assortment of novels on my cherished Kobo: mysteries, historical fiction, classics, trashy pop fiction, non-fiction and more. My brain was filled with great characters and great stories. I took my Kobo everywhere: on cruises in the Caribbean, on flights to Europe, and even back and forth in my car daily so that at any moment I could take a few minutes’ break, just me and my Kobo.

Then tragedy struck: one evening while rushing to take groceries into the house to make dinner, I forgot my Kobo in the car. Wouldn’t you know it, a thief broke into my car and stole it. I was shattered! End of story. However, I still feel the loss. You never know how much you love something until it’s gone.

  5. Love the Kobo Clara as adjustable lighting is a must have for me and the battery life is outstanding.

  7. My e-reader is old (i.e. ancient in technology terms) so an upgrade, especially one with ComfortLight PRO technology to help reduce exposure to blue light would be very welcome!

  16. I like this back to basics simplicity for the Kobo Clara HD. If I wanted a tablet, I`d get a tablet. I want an easy-peasy e-reader that fits in one hand with great storage, ease-of-use and a great battery charge – weeks of battery life on a single charge – yes, please! I love everything about the Kobo, and Martin, I too have suffered the loss of my Kobo – though it wasn`t in the car, but being charged on my home computer when some thieving miscreants broke in and stole it. Maybe winning the Kobo Clara HD will smoothe my ache.

  17. I read a lot of books that are containing a great many pages and since I read a lot of times while I am in bed, the Kobo eReader saves a lot of wear and tear on my arms…

  18. I love everything about it but especially the ability to change font size. As I’ve become older I can no longer read just any book because of the font.

  26. I always have my Kobo with me so even if I am waiting in line for a few minutes, I can read. And it is great for riding the train or the bus.
