A Kobo ereader will likely have you reading a lot more. In fact, the newest ereader in their lineup, the Kobo Nia, with its slim, no frills approach, is all about what you are reading rather than what you are using to read. It’s light enough for anyone to hold for prolonged periods and small enough to fit into a pocket or a handbag. And it’s going to be a great prize for two people who read through my short article and enter this contest.

You won’t want to put down the Kobo Nia ereader

I love reading as much as I love writing. I have done plenty of both in my life. Of course, my job as Editor in Chief of the Best Buy Blog requires me to write a lot of articles—and read even more articles. However, I still make time for writing and reading as a pasttime; not as much as I would like to or as I did in the past, unfortunately. You see, I once had a Kobo; that was when I was writing and reading a lot. One of the first things I did after I finished writing my first novel was to upload it to my Kobo. I was so used to reading on the Kobo that I found it much easier to read and edit my own books on the Kobo too. I found it really helped my creative process.

The fact is, when you have a Kobo, you will likely get more interested in books. Partly, it’s the convenience; partly it’s the ease of picking it up and having thousands of books right there in your hands. I don’t read as much as I used to—as I said, my Kobo was stolen. It’s about time I go out and buy another one!

What will you read first on the Kobo Nia ereader

Do you have more than one book on the go at any one time? I always have more than one that I’m reading. The Kobo Nia is perfect for people like you and me since all your books can be in one place. The first book I’d put on an ereader is Kazuo Ishiguro’s “The Buried Giant.” I rarely get into fantasy type stories but I’m about 100 pages in and this one has me hooked. I would likely add a few of Ishiguro’s books now that I know I love his writing style.

Of course, you could add books to any Kobo: they have models that are waterproof, models with bigger screens … so choose the one that works for you. Ted recently reviewed the Kobo Nia and he pointed out many of the features found in the range of Kobo devices, but emphasized that the Nia is perfect for what you need it for: reading. Read his review, decide on an ereader, then load it up with books or get a subscription from Kobo and open your world to books, books, and more books.

  1. I don’t have a Kobo so I really don’t know which is my favourite – the first book i would put on it is “North & South” – I watched the movie series on TV but had never had the chance to read the books. I use to be an avid reader – 3 to 4 books a week however now I don’t read at all – haven’t read a book in 5 years – winning this would hopefully get me back to reading which i truly miss.

    Thanks for the chance.

  2. not into bells and whistles, just want to be able to get books and read them, the Nia sounds perfect for me! A James Patterson book would be my first read

  3. My favourite is the Kobo Libra H2O 7″ Digital eReader due to its larger screen size and it is water resistant. I would put the book “The Book of Negroes” by Lawrence Hill, a book that has been on my bucket list.

  4. I still have the original Kobo, which is not very functional. I would love the Kobo Nia for its size and weight. We usually do a lot of travelling, and this would be perfect.

  6. I like Kobo Libra H2O 7″ Digital eReader with Touchscreen and I would read THE AFFAIR: A JACK REACHER NOVEL

  7. I would probably read a textbook using an e-reader… but if I had to pick a book, maybe The Intelligent Investor.

  8. The Kobo Forma eReader is my favorite because bigger is really better when aging. Just wait til you get there and you’ll understand.

  9. I like the Kobo Nia for it’s size. I would add the book “Unicorn and Horse” first because my Kindergarten class loves it!!

    • I am not a big book reader and this would be a gift for my Mom. I suspect she will likely read Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus.

  10. I like the size of the Nia and the weight, and don’t need the extras offered by the other models. I’m currently reading “The Couple Next Door” and it would be the first book I would load.

  11. i currently do all my reading on my amazon fire but its a bit heavy for reading during the night so i think i would have to pick the new Kobo Nia for that reason plus i like a big screen so i dont have to wear my reading glasses. im current reading all lisa jackson series and next on my list to download is If she Only Knew . thanks for the chance
